  1. After much to long it now has color where ive done repairs Didnt take a pic after clearing it. Looks the sane but shinyer
  2. Sold the 720 Regretted it Wanted a bigger deck Bought a 1980 l300 truck 1600 4 speed with drum brakes all round Has a bit of rust as all good Mitsubishi's do More to come
  3. All going well i should have a new addition to the fleet to showcase on sunday
  4. Been fighting the transmission for a while. Still slipping badly in first and revs spiking into second. Checked the transmission ecu. All visually looks ok. Good enough for me. So today i took at the pan off and removed the valve body to check solenoid operation. They all seem ok. I also dropped the valave body out of a e33 galant thats donated many parts already and unsurprisingly the valve body is almost identical. One solenoid needs to be swapped over then will go in. With any luck it woll solve the issue as it came from a fully functional transmission Og on the left and the galant one on the right
  5. Touched up around the a pillar and front guard this eveing Will put the drivers door back on and do the doors and back guards at the same time
  6. The issue is finding another one. A guy i work with cut his teeth doing autos. He recons hes got a book that should have some stuff on measureing line pressure. Im thinking maybe a soldniod is packed up? Im not sure if it would matter but i think the trans cooler in the radiator is blocked from when it got repaird. As one of the cooler lines was dry. Ive since looped the cooler lines and it made little difference
  7. I did locate it today. Its a mare to get out of rhe v2000 I also took the debonairs one out. Turns out one of the plugs is different. Fml I guess I'll have to try something else
  8. I imagine you will be able to buy almost every part you need to repair for this? That will make the job 11ty billion times quicker and easier. Especially with large and involved repairs Talking from experience in the matter
  9. Ok. Ill have a better look today. I suspect it is a computer fault just because when i manually select 1st it drives fine
  10. I have a debonair here i can swap it out of 6g72 and auto I had the centre consol out yesterday and i didnt find a tcu. Only a power steer controller and the ac/heater computer behind that
  11. Yes they are a computer controlled trans This is something i looked into but couldnt find the trans computer .... requires further investigation
  12. Get back on the main page. Got a set or soft lines for the rear brakes made up today and some seals for the calipers got them back on an bled up njce and easy Got a new brass frost plug in the block. Was a prick to get in Got it all dialed in and took it outside to wash the dust off it. Took it for a run up the motorway to test out all the work ive done to it Which turned into this haha Transmission is working ok in 2nd 3rd and overdrive. But pulling away in 1st gear in drive it slips pretty hard. But if i select low it is ok.....dunno. old autos beinh old autos. Might put a few more kms on it and see if it improves.. Cruises at 100k pretty good for a little 2 litre v6
  13. Sorted the shifter bush this arvo. Didnt have any sutible plastic to make a bush out if so modifyed 2 bronze bushes O.d was to big so turned it down to fit. Made one a little small so used a bit of locktite to secure it Then reamed out the i.d till the bottom bolt would go through with only a little clearance Sorted
  14. I had to try pretty hard not to just put a 6g72 in it when i got into the motor and saw how yuck the heads were. But being how rare a v2000 is i figured it would be kinda cool to keep it original motor.
  15. Should add i think the calipers have been relitted at some point in the past as the pistons and seals are in good condition. Compared to the fronts that are in very poor condition. Will be getting seals for the rear calipers anyways
  16. The rear brakes are vented on the v2000 The galant ones are not Some v3000 have the same brakes so hopefully parts arnt to bad
  17. Something that annoyed me with jt was the auto shifter is sloppy amd feels loose. Spent way longer than i though removing the center console. Every piece of trim is screwed in with more screws than seems necessary. But got there in the end. Removed the shifter to find the bottom bush non existent. Will have to spin one up from acetal at work one evening
  18. A while ago i bought a low kms one owner galant with a rekt motor. Was gonna scrap it but them i noticed the front brakes were pretty similar. Exacly similar i turns out So i set to work this weekend amd swapped master cyclinder, front rotors, calipers, and flexi lines over for yhe frony brakes. Geting rid of the corroded siezed old calipers and dry cracked soft lines. Now in have a functioning front brake system with what look like near new disks rears i was not so lucky with and everything is slighlty differnt. Will rekit the rear calipers and get new soft lines made up.
