  1. My old hilux had the old style paper mod dec cert used to ask the wof guys if they wanted to see it after they wrote the warrant out what for the lift? Um it's not lifted ... Did you look under the bonnet?
  2. Good plan to build exactly did it end up 1/2 the price of a new one? long shallow angle ramps are great and you can never have too many tie down points
  3. Probably be lots of triangle files in the collection too and a wooden clamp frame thing to hold the saw in the vice while resetting/sharpening
  4. ha looks not so gold on laptop was prob projecting cos i have a gold set on shed wall ... have even used them in the past now its all $20 throwaway non sharpenable saws or grab the cordless skilly
  5. Lh with the gold handles is for resetting the tooth angle on oldschool hand wood saws
  6. Needs to be 360deg wraparound they are concerned about driveshaft going thru passenger floor too looks like a good start to add a loop onto
  7. Yep seen that almost bought a jag/aj/ford Mazda v6 before I scored the cronos Most seem to think the kl is the better engine but they do build the noble sports cars with those mondeo v6s Updates yeah well been working long hours 6 days a week Scored some new wheels and some new adjustie spensions so that has eaten into build funds Engine mounts are half done want to finalise the sump/oil pickup for clearance before I finish the mounts Having the engine sitting in the car and a spare engine on the stand is making it easier to do wee bits and pieces Throttle links and water and oil plumbing slowly getting sorted as Alislowexpress bits arrive
  8. Check this gearbox page if you have not already seen It http://www.jascoautomotive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=55&sid=84999adc9264d968c136f84017a3a0f6 As much as I liked the throw an efi mx5 motor idea in I also really like the keep it original style too Very cool ute good to see it being used
  9. Fuck that is awesome Now mount it under there with bonnet closed and do a stationary full load heat video please
  10. This is sounding like something to extract brake pistons???
  11. That rad hose T piece is a Mazda one Cos I have one here
  12. Ah ok I scored a 30$ old laptop with serial port and windows xp version that will actually read the help files that have more details than the basic instructions So hard to get any info on these
  13. Ok I am scared now - what made you give up on the stinger ? Also link atom 950ish on tardme no loom
  14. What's the go with using wheel PCD adaptors with alloy wheels that use shank nuts ? Everything I read says tapered nuts locating adaptor to hub and tapered nuts locating wheel onto adaptor Are shank nuts ok on adaptors ? Or do I need wheel centring adaptor centric ring gizmos as well? Is countersinking old alloy wheels to run tapered nuts as dodgy as it seems ?
  15. Mx5s have a splined steel universal on steering shaft may fit rx2
  16. Yep still needs cert install for insurance and safety purposes Bottle cupboard needs to vent to outside as low as possible It may just take an inspection on what you have already done I know a good mobile plumber/gas fitter in your area if want want a number to call?
  17. Are those Telstars the same shape/ model as Mazda GE series? I have a GE Cronos in my backyard if you need any odd bits ? Head and tail lights look the same but front bumper may be a bit dear for shipping from way down here Most of the interior is good and the exterior dark blue looks same shade All I'm keeping is the engine so the rest is surplus / going to scrap at some point
  18. Yus been looking at that setup too but probably with new bits All the wrecks where I am are still on the road or being hoarded= no real wreckers within 200km of me Rockauto and trademe are my fastest parts suppliers
  19. Let's try that again Plenty of room to steering wheel shaft Not much room between engine sump and steering rack / crossmember What's the minimum clearance re commended / allowed Engine is cradled in a V by the mounts so theoretically can't drop if they break
  20. Oop fucked up quote and reply gotta run Soz
  21. While we are on the engine mount subject I have not got a lot of room to use my stock mx5 rubber mounts Or the big steel cup around them Is it ok to use generic round rubber mounts like in those photos Looking at some landrover ones that are low profile Stock mount location on crossmember - rubber mounts with 10mm studs- 6mm steel plates onto engine Ticketed welds on the plates Sound ok ?
