  1. Sweet. Yeah I was thinking a moulded fibreglass type cover with stainless trim, just for looks. Obviously don't want to restrict access or airflow and add too much weight, but would really accentuate the aesthetics...
  2. Has anyone ever made a retro engine cover for period outboard cool factor?
  3. Aromoana has some cool beaches too. Careys Bay, Port Chalmers worth a look if you're heading out that way. Both have good pubs. Lots of good short walks in Catlins. Easter is oyster season if you enjoy expensive sea snot, good places to eat Blue Cod in Bluff and Riverton. Sort of need to know if you're with kids, into brewery type things or more family events
  4. Wheee... I've been for a hoon. WOF next week then good for cruising...
  5. Fancy pan has drain plugs so easy to drop some fluid before pulling tube out. Cleaned the tube and hole in the trans with solvent, and a ring of sealant above the new o-ring should have addressed the issue. Guess I'll find out later...
  6. Look at me doing car stuff... Drove the Fairmont a month or so ago and it wasn't shifting well. Checked trans level and very low, evidenced by the red puddle in the garage. Nipped up pan bolts but pretty sure that wasn't the prob as I've fitted a fancy pan and silicone gasket. Placing tissue paper around the cleaned pan indicated a slight weep at the adjusting rod nuts, but most of it coming from the filler/dipstick tube, so I ordered a new o-ring, some type F fluid and some Right Stuff permatex sealant... Old o-ring looked undersized compared to the new one, think I'd just bunged in a metric one that looked about right...
  7. Triple carb Holden pls... 🙏
  8. I had a 2005 Mondeo and it was just a beater fambly wagon (dents in the panels and jam on the seats) but did everything brilliantly. Rode really well, no issues and smooth ride. I used to love road trips in it, despite being so dull. I still see it getting round town. Current euro Ford not so good
  9. I think it's not UV rated so not recommended as a top coat. Think the clear is rated as a top coat if you like the satin black. But I've used it on bike frames no bother. Should be fine in engine bay...
  10. I've sprayed leftover Durepox over rusty pieces of scrap and they're still sitting outside mint as. Big fan of it, looks great in satin black and can be brushed on ok too...
  11. Thus will be in demand for any wartime/period dramas. Should sign her up with a talent scout...
  12. I looked at this but had nothing to attach to, so just used my ride-on to push it over the lip of the floor. Old tyre between vehicles took up the impact...
  13. Aw shame you're selling it after all that work, was looking fwd to seeing it finished. I get where you're coming from wanting your first car back though. Keep us posted on that too...
  14. Sweet, look fwd to the back story...
  15. Not even sure what that is, or what trans you have, C6, FMX? Just as long as it's suitable...
  16. I found quite a few bits in my C4, new filter and fluid and all good. Put a cast alloy pan on it with a drain plug. Are you using the Type F Ford fluid? I had to go to a speed shop to find it...
  17. Not really rough as needs must etc, but this setup got a 2 tonne rally car thru several stages, at damn near 200kmh. I just liked the vise grip/cable tie combo...
  18. I could fill this post with pics of my welds...
  19. Cool bike, I like how the carb slide looks bigger then the piston...
  20. This looks like something a Falcon rally car would be shit at. But entertaining...
