Been hooning the monkey for a week so far. Heaps of fun so far the 220kms ive done. already thinking of upgrades I'd like to do.

Max speed of 112kph along the expressway behind some one. Crusies at around 93kph in the open wind with 100kgs on it.

Really interested to see what kinda kms it gets to a tank of my style or riding.

I'd wager it's a lot more than mine does now! Haha. Fuel economy is gone, as expected.

My speed was virtually the same on the Wave.

But I haven't done a full to empty tank yet. Today I got a clean sheet WOF with the loud pipe, I'm away laughing!

  2. Thats wicked. I'm gonna be riding a Honda Forza 350 soon I think.

As long as the weather forecast looks okay for the week I booked it.

Honda NZ doesn't bring in any big scoots. 160cc max.

Honda Thailand does the Forza 350; think of it as a couch on wheels, I mean check this speedo set up:

Anyway, I actually wanted to rent another scooter with the same powerplant, the ADV350:

But they didn't have any. Only the 150 version.

I love these big scoots. But the fact remains, there is a reason they don't come here: Price. They're quite spenny, the Forza 350 is nearly $9k new in Thailand, which means it would likely be approx 11-13K here.

Yamaha does sell the XMAX here which is less flashy but still nice and 300cc, but I find them uncomfortable. They're about $9k new in NZ.

Yamaha also would bring in a few Tmax's each run they did. Which is damn cool. I rode one and at 530cc and no gears it was a wild time. Aprilia even bought in a few 850cc scoots, at which point you should probably get a bike. But I think that just showcases typical NZ Honda mentality, they only bring in the safe options.

    Anyway. Big scoot yarns, out.

  3. Luxury in Daihatsu form:

May be an image of car

YRV. 1.3 Turbo. Sadly auto, but at least it's Column shift and the front seats are pushed together so it's effectively a bench seat. Meaning uninterrupted snuggles with your mates in the front seat.

Listed for $3.5 on facebook. I'd buy it if I wasn't spending money on Holiday soon. A few months too early for me.
