  1. Is #1 on compression stroke, not exhaust stroke when your pump marks line up?

  3. Pressure relief valve, I bet that was a head scratcher Edit; we've had one of those stuck open because the banjo that holds it was over tightened, twisted up the bolt shaft and locked the plunger solid
  4. Sometimes it can take a while for all the air to get out of the pump
  5. Probably good to check, for peace of mind at least. Do I have memories of there being a gauze filter in the inlet fitting of the fuel pump?

  16. It's good to have that centre bearing a little off, 2-4ยบ. It'll make the uj bearings at the box do some rotating. Centre bearings are never spot on
  17. Credit to @Nominal Pull dizzy, turn one tooth, try again. Rotor should be pretty solidly pointing at #1. Remember, the plug fires at just before tdc. Hence BTDC There should be timing marks on the crank, and cam gears, to get them lined up properly
