I'd go with 14point7 just because I know for a fact that he stands behind his products. I butchered one through total misuse and he sent me a new one for free
-
My friend reckons on his latest order from amayama they cancelled his oil filters due to shipping rules
-
Is it too late to use the old timing mark to make an alternative mark on the other side? Edit: I guess you can use the timing belt alignment marks to clock up the crank pulley and then pick an arbitrary point to mark
-
Not really worth paying attention to their drawings, they are usually pretty generic. If the chassis number matches and the year is right then you're probably good to go
-
3Y only takes smaller diameter filters, or at least my one does - no idea on gallery size Should be able to get away with drilling out the 4K one a little though

Toyota used filter before the pump, never any problems. Just do it. Also means the filter is less likely to pop
-
Shirley a man of your calibre could do something funky and make the intakes be on the outside of the V so the exhausts all go into one spot
-
There's bound to be plenty out there, oldscoolautos would probably let one go for like $15 Alternatively, amayama seems to think it actually has a real one in stock https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/1560922012

Should keep it in the Toyota family and put a 4K oil filter mount on. They fit almost every size of filter imaginable

Isn't it a common problem for this era Corolla to have a failed headlight stalk? /had similar symptom on my brother's ute, turns out just both of the bulbs had burnt out their low beam at the same time
-
You'll have no difficulty swapping the flat front parts for someone's slant front parts - with cash your way. Guards, bonnet, grille, valance, I think headlight buckets, bumper and probably a few other little bits
-
Well the good news is that if that is actually a 1984 then it is a slant front that has had a conversion done. Does it have the slant front hatch and interior? If it doesn't have slant front hatch on the back then it is almost certainly plated and tagged

You'll likely be accurate enough with no sensor after a decent tune. I disconnected the oxygen sensor on the Hilux and it runs better with no increase in fuel consumption. Maybe I'll put a new one on since day, but it would never pay off and I can't picture it improving fuel economy below 9L/100km

Is there an imbalance between the cells? Microcontroller probably won't open the transistor if there is a bung cell
-
If your afr ratios are as reasonable as your gauge says they are then there probably won't be a huge amount of economy to gain from aftermarket ECU. Definitely invest in marina
-
Just be aware of the risk of small glass particles getting into places you don't want them and then going through your engine. You'll also probably want to give the head a skim again after vapor blast. /I blasted my head and it hasn't blown up yet but you might not be so lucky. Also wouldn't want vapor blasting anywhere near cam bearing surfaces

If you ever want to sell the 3Y I could be keen

13 minutes in sounds like your symptoms

Not failed VVTi system?

I'd trust 40 year old genuine hoses over rockauto ones I have bought some starlet stuff from there, but the shipping gets steep these days
-
Brake hoses - Starlet ones are 40 years old now. Is it worth replacing them? they still look fine from the outside, but 40 years is 40 years. Who does good quality hoses these days? Best to go stainless braided or stick with rubber?
-
Surely you could fit a pull starter to the car
-
You can't just get rid of it for free at the dump anymore? We can in Christchurch. Just make an oil burner to keep your garage warm
