  1. I'm getting about 16l/km edit: 16km/Litre( 6.25l/100k), but that economy is a total lie because I'm also running 25:1 on 2T oil at ~$50/l. So around ($1.98 / 16km fuel + ($50/16,/25)) = 12.375c/km fuel and ~12.5c/km for 2T? (LoL, just realised). A reliable friend who was watching his economy closely in a subaru and an audi said he got better $/l out of the BP 98 octane, because although it cost more per litre, the engine ran lower l/km. Unfortunately I'm not reliable, and cannot remember which of those vehicles that conclusion belonged to. edit: Oh, and a McLachlan of the clan McLachlan, checking in. You spendthrift wastrels.
  2. Linux photo upright, and date / time correction (you know, actual cameras, and timezones). ubuntu default photo editor ... ... doesn't save changes to file .... bug list... \blah blah ..."everyone else doesn't honour the exif rotate flag". Marked "will not fix". Fuck you linux.
  3. Although you might get some out of sync firings that way, as the field in the spark coil collapses?
  4. Wipes the system. Traditional warning to new users about the power of the command line, and not blindly typing in shit from the innernerds. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=rm+-rf+%2F Finest compression avaliable under UNIX/Linux! Unfortunatly, there is no decompressor avaliable. I once used rm to remove a link to my mp3 collection. Unfortunately it was a hard-link. Holy shit linux deletes stuff fast in the 3 seconds it takes to realise.
  5. From twitter: Windows 10 new bash users. Welcome! The first few commands you should master: ls cd rm -rf /mnt/c #Build2016
  6. A user expressed interest, so I'll post it: A SAD lamp (visor, so portable) I made for my Mrs. About 1/2 hour a day seems to make a difference. I checked the LED spectrum for no nasty UV-B. You could make one with These LED strips, here and a couple of 4x AA battery holders.
  7. Details get updated at the meet threaed here: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/38968-christchurch-monthly-meet-next-meet-sunday-20th-march-1pm-governors-bay-pub/ So, 1pm, Governors Sams Bay pub.
  8. I suggest not changing, that seems to result in messyness. But I'll host a shed drinkies some tuesday in a week or two (woolston).
  9. Sorry, I missed the meet there and convoy later idea suggestion above. Good idea, lets do that
  10. How about a bit of a bays drive culminating at the Gov?
  11. Should be tons unless it's a strange ignition system. Dai alt wore through its brushes earlier in the week. Ran fine for 2 days on total loss, down to a battery V of ~8V. It's kettering ignition, with no starter / ballast system. Again, make sure you get the right kind of ignition coil, ballast Vs non. I suspect electronic ignition systems may be more fussy in that regard. If you're still having troubles with correct coil, bring it round, I'll have a looksie.
  12. My Daihatsu started more and more poorly at one time, and I replaced lots of bits. The actual problem was indeed the coil. It had started "tracking" from the tip (HV output) down to the case of the coil. I tried cleaning it, but no go. I replaced it (check for proper type, ballasted / vs not), and it solved immediately. I've heard they can break down internally, though I've not seen it. Avoid running the ignition without a spark plug connected, which will cause over-voltage, and may cause insulation breakdown. You should get a good fat strong spark from that kind of system. What's the battery voltage? Kick start or electric starter?
  13. PM ToMitz? have a lookie at his thread / sigma: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/49540-tomitz-1981-mitsubishi-sigma/page-2#entry1653524
  14. Also, keep an eye on (subscribe?): //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35701-christchurch-meets-discussion-thread/
  15. I had said I would provide a BBW BBQ for Skope classic, and I heard that the other BBQ suppliers weren't gonna be there. Oh noes, can't starve the bros! I had a spare BBQ 'cause basically I couldn't drive a gas tap, but it wouldn't fit in the car, because Daihatsu: So, applying tungsten tipped skill saw, added lowness (I carefully checked the safety instructions, this wasn't contra-indicated): Slamaque! (Kei car wheels for scale). This fit in the rear seat, fed the small OS team, and will get more tidied up later.
  16. Delaying heading abroad. You name a pub, I'll supply brown fizzy from the long bench, and a few shit yarns. You should prolly take the 2T for a blat.
  17. I'm packing to head abroad, but woulda shouted beersies otherwise.
