Cool. I'll just jam it where it fits. I have to raise the headers a tad too cuz they are 80mm from the ground atm. Was planning on heating with a gas torch and bending cuz that's how I roll. I have some 2.5" stainless pipe that I got for free ages ago so I plan to replace from the headers to the mufflers with that.

Hello exhaust gurus. I plan on putting a balance tube on my Buick to reduce the bop bop under water fart sound. I have 4 - 1 headers and flowmaster mufflers Is there a rule to how far from the collectors the balance tube should be?

There will be a major lack of Buick this month. You'll still hear me coming in the POS daily tho.

It is a GM trans. Turbo Hydramatic 350. Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac use the BOP bellhousing patern . Chevy use there own pattern. Everything else is the same.

I will pull the pump off and have a look. I suspect the pump would have been under a lot of strain.

Yeah I watched the demo video. Just looks like solder.

As far as that durafix. I still reckon it will crack again. I have spotted another trans on TM. I am currently trying to sell some shed ornaments to fund it.

The reason it cracked is because there was a small piece broken off the bell housing on one side. The material is only about 4mm thick. It probably doesn't help that the rear is lowered 3.5 inches. I probably should check the pinion angle.

I talked to a tranny specialist. He said to weld it up properly I'd have to get the guts pulled out of the trans, heat the whole casing, then weld the crack, or it will just crack again. Plus the metal in the fluid is most likely from the pump, not the torque converter so that'll be poked too. Here are some pics ...

So I went to work today and put the wag up on the hoist to change the oil and discovered the bell housing on the transmission has a crack across the top almost the whole way over. I can move it up and down. The front of the trans is pretty much supported by the torque converter. I pulled the trans pan off to find all sorts of shiny shiny in the fluid. Bugger. I took the trans out. I suspect the metal is from inside the torque converter. I don't have the cash for another trans at the mo so I might try to get this one welded up and chuck it back together and see what happens. It was driving sweet so who knows. My computer is away getting fixed so photos will come later. Hopefully it is all sorted by then. What a way to start a new page. We have never had any trouble with wholly pizza in the 3 or 4 times we have been there in the last year. If it was my business and 20 people turned up to buy pizzas when it is usually a quiet time i wouldn't be complaining. Beaver has/will let them know we are coming.
