  1. Nah pretty much sold out in a day last year from memory. Gets worse each year!
  2. 1 October! Which is a Saturday....so will be even worse no doubt crashing websites and the like! Outstanding
  3. Haha drive this one, Not sure, at the moment happy with sorting out a few mates cars iv acquired to sort haha, ZC Fairlane 500 and a dirty 350 converted VL as well as the usual stream of subis haha. Makes my wallet feel better spending someone elses money but still tinkering haha. Although mrs wants a 40s chev truck, but i say must be bagged and dropped so not anytime soon ha.
  4. So Friday was a pretty massive day in the life of the 64! Took her back to Hamilton, Neal fitted my Cert plate, took it back to the VIN inspector and got the minor items ticked off and a WOF issued! 4 Years and 2 months after buying shes legal to be on the road! First job after this was to head in to town and meet up with Kenny in his latest acquisition (Thunderbird) and Nick (In his freshly juiced Buick) for a beer at Little George. Shot of us parked up on Hood St Friday Afternoon. Still a few little bits and pieces to do and what not but we were able to spend the weekend cruising to the mount and clocking up some miles! Shot off the deck having a beer on Sat night! Yarns down here http://oldschool.co....westpala/page-9
  5. Hmmm im not sure, id say the inspector here would be wanting to be satisfied it was the ok, clint might know otherwise though. With the Impala the repair cert inspector had to look at my car all the way through the process, in saying that it was a pretty major job structurally in comparison.
  6. Cheers man, Cool to see someone doing a ponti over the regular chev as well! Will look sweet with bags in it! Keep at it man
  7. Bad arse bro! Very cool. Murray and Chris at VC are good guys and know there shit! Used Chris as a sounding board for a bit of stuff on the 64 dude knows his stuff!
  8. Cert ranges from 500-1000 depending on the level of modifications and the certifier. Compliance is only about $500 If you need a repair cert for structural repairs (which you probably will by the sounds) theres another $400 odd as well.
  9. I wonder if its the same in that you can apply to run the OG black plates if they are off the vehicle that has been deregistered? Can for cars, dunno about trailer though. Question. If a car didn't come out factory with front seat belts (1959) and and has no factory mounting points in the pan for front seat belts when it comes to getting a VIN does it then need to have front belts fitted which in turn meets fitting plates and getting a Low volume for it? Not my car but just asking for someone.
  10. So VIN check went swimmingly thanks to David and the team at Automotive Advantage in Hamilton! Top notch. Fail list was pretty small - No cert plate (had been ticked off and was awaiting plate) - No repair cert paper work (hadnt taken back for final check) - No horn (Had taken off as was faulty and VIN was spur of the moment) - Issue with 2 headlights dipping the wrong way Have sorted it all and will hopefully get it back this week for a VIN/WOF and drive home legally! http://oldschool.co....westpala/page-9
  11. Thanks everybody pretty happy alright! Will be happier in a couple of weeks when the rest of the paperwork is ticked off! Cheers man, thats the next on the to do list is finish the boot install and clean it up for a shoot!
  12. So good news! Has passed the Certification for all the mods late last week! Booked in/going for a VIN check today. Cert Plate should be here by the end of the week and need to take back to the repair certifier now its a complete car for his final tick of approval. Once thats done and any stuff the VIN man wants done then we should be gooooodddd to go! So close now! Yarns down here: http://oldschool.co....westpala/page-9
  13. Yeah id go 14s over 15s, anything bigger than 14s can look a bit funny. In wire wheels anyway.
  14. Only thing is if you want to run spats on the rear youll need to run a 6 or narrow your diff!
  15. You can get 14x7's and they will fit sweet man, Usually run 175/70R14's on them Also go for reverse offset haha then you get all the dish!
  16. Nice work man, youll love driving her! I didnt end up getting much stuff from chucks for my 64 as didnt have access to trade and retail was $$$ bought most of my parts in the states when the dollar was 80c+ but they seem to be reasonably priced now the dollar is a bit shit. Let me know if you got any questions or not sure about something on them, 61-64 pretty much teh same and have pulled mine to a million and 1 pieces ha. Enjoy it!
  17. I bought some alloy hardline also which you can buy in straight lengths cut to whatever length you want. Doing my boot install with hardline at the moment and just bought and bent up then used pushlocks like escortwags says.
  18. So have been busy getting through the cert list and nearly ready to go for a final check and hopefully a cert plate! Did a before and after comparison of the engine bay from when i bought to now: Massive thanks to Toby at BOP Polishers for the polishing, Mikey for the painting, Spun by Hutty for the trumpets, Eze Auto Electrics for the wiring job as well as Lakes Automotive in TGA for the hours at night helping me get shit sorted! Also Greg aka 64Valiant aka Midnight Upholstery was working for every hour possible before beach hop to get my car done amongst others, But wouldnt let me leave the shop till he gave the boot a quick trim. This is only temporary as have made a panel to go around the airbag tank and will trim this and the side panels to match the seats, Have bent up some 3/8 alloy hardlines for all lines going into the valve box to tidy that up and theyll be off to Toby for some polishing also. Should be sharp in theory! Talk among yourselfs http://oldschool.co....westpala/page-9
  19. Greg aka 64valiant on OS at Midnight Upholstery in Htown. Fulla works wonders on all things upholstery.
  20. I did, had a recheck yesterday he was happy as with it. Just bought it off Tradme was $30 for 3 feet of 1/2" i think. i just cut it so it wasnt a sleeve anymore and just cable tied it on lol. Any brake lines within 100mm has to be shielded
  21. Not sure how I missed this build just read from front to back. Bad arse! looks like heaps of fun ha
  22. Drove the car over to Hamilton on Saturday to leave with Greg @ Midnight Upholstery for his shop open day. Couldnt make it on the day but looks like it was a good one! Few pics taken by Earl @ Popeye Pics Talk among yourselfs http://oldschool.co....westpala/page-9
