  1. I used s13 gear in my r30 skyline,i would'nt reccomend it, as soon as i let the clutch out i could feel it was wrong, the ackermen angle(if thats what its called)is wrong and castor is wrong also,if you can get away with putting height adjustable shocks onto your hub/carriers then i would do that, theres plenty of brake upgrades useing toyota stuff. just my 2 cents.
  2. you can use a r31 borg warner diff ,get the long side cut to the same lenght as the short then get a second short axel to put in (saves get one made),i heard they fit perfect but wrong stud pattern. just what ive heard.
  3. hey bud, sounds like a headgasket issue. get it compression tested and cooling/radiator pressure leak down test done. thats where i would start.
  4. seen you yesterday, looks sweet driving past, well done.
  5. cool bike man, i was going to do the same to my 79 750k (x cop speacial). i would like to see yours in the rat style, it will add to the tuff look. i also like the use of parts ,its what a true chopper/bober is really about not another harley built from a catalouge.
  6. have you tried skylines down under nz, those guys might be able to sort you out as its more their thing.
  7. Hey man, if you use R32 shocks i recommend using taller bump stops so the tyres don't rub on the shock while under compression due to the increased camber. I did this to use 215/R17, I also used R33 front springs on the 32 shocks as the 33 springs are slightly stiffer. Even the power of the old L20et with a few mods (more boost and intercooler) will cause it to sit on the bumpstops while boosting if on standard r32 shocks, so forget passengers (if you like boosting), all of this depends on tyre size and offset though. Ive had to find all this out through trial and error so I've learnt a few things about them along the way i.e. r33 viscous diff fits in the r30 housing with slight mods and s13 hubs fit also with slight mods but you cant use s13 shocks due to our small strut tower so adjustables is the only way to use them etc etc, PM me if want to bounce ideas as i may have tried it and failed already, might save you some time/frustration.
  8. hey mate, what do you intend on doing with it(racecar/street legal)? would be cool to see it driving down the street! also i've sent you a pm about r30 parts, just wondering if you got it?
  9. sounds normal to me, no rpm = no oil pressure and cranking speed is not much rpm.
  10. ive seen a square surge tank before and it was mounted under the car. ive got a normal round one in the boot and i dont reccomend it as it noisey and sounds like a river running thru the boot(and its rubber mounted).fine for a race car but annoying for cruising.
  11. Hey Tom ,looking good dude,we have to catch up soon so i can see it. this is Wes Trents bro
