I would say one 3" will be more than enough, I did have a 3" on my XF v8, it fitted ok, there is enough room, it was 3" from the collectors then merged into one 3" with a 50 series flowmaster in front of the diff
  2. I did regret selling that, I got a KX witch was a bit too much for the nabours I put that motor together with the best parts from those other motors, they are hard to come by now because of the speedway solos and midget car guys used them all up.
  3. That looks cool, I like the wood gran. I would be the one you got the motor off
  4. I have now got an electronic hall effect distributor and high energy coil, I carn't use copper leads anymore as they give off interference witch can screw with the trigger.
  5. I went and had a look at auto stop they had Bosh Supersport inductive core leads witch are nice What hat do the numbers mean on them? 106 & 505 & 609? I thought they were just universal leads are they different values?
  6. Not anymore, too much noise for my hall censor
  7. I had a look them in the shop, they have huge thick rubber boots
  8. Where would I get a set of universal HT leads i can cut to the right length that have straight boots at the distributor end and eather straight or anything upto 90 at the plug end? Under no circumstances do I want gray boots or boots with the big thick blobby shit for puling the lead off the plug
  9. Some bike coils use the inner laminated core to mount the coil to the bike frame so you could possibly attach some thing to that
  10. you could still use the old points on top of the coil and a condenser and small motorcycle coil inside I reckon
  11. f the winding haven't failed probabley the condenser has broken down, you might be able to wire one up on the outside of the box?
  12. Is this one of those NZ made cars?
  13. Starting the engine with the battery on charge shouldn't hurt anything I would think, I do it often.
  14. Then do those trademe battery guys sell the old ones?
  15. At miter10 mega they have a big range of car and truck battery's some of them were covered in dust and looked like they hadn't been moved or touched in a very long time, how long should a battery sit on a shop shelf before its no good to sell if the shop did give a fuck? when I was walking to the counter a guy ran out the door with one and he got away to,
  16. LOL I did,
  17. I all ways get asked to weld something that is in the bush or at the bottom of a paddock and I carn't get my MIG there or my AC ARC is way too heavy and most people dont have a 15 AMP plug, thought I would make this. This is a welding alternator that has triple bridge rectifiers and super heavyduty windings. and it has a 240 volt DC 15 AMP power supply, very potent! The idear was to fit this to your vehicle so you can weld and run a grinder or light or anything that dosn't mind DC. Has a throttle knob to adjust engine speed witch controls the AMPS when in welding mode. 240V output, My plan is to mount it to a trolley with a Honda GX390 motor witch I got given, it had no muffler had had been sitting outside for 3 years and had locked up, I got it free and it seems to start and run very well, I made a glass pack muffler witch is very loud and I might need to rethink. I have a trolley with cast iron wheels I will mount all the shit to, just need to find some pulleys and get a couple pillow blocks, I will need every ounce of power from this motor.
  18. When the lifter was splitting in half it must of jammed and shoved the pushrod into it. decision made roller rockers it is
  19. What part of the lifter got damaged? I understand those rockers are prone to braking or getting so worn the pushrod brakes through the end
  20. I successfully un seized an engine today using brake fluid, it was stuck like chuck, its happily running now,
  21. I see a few old cars with those remote brake boosters fitted, one Vauxhall had 2 of them, would they need a cert?
  22. you could buy a pair of $16 dollar wheel cylinders in the right size and use the pistons and seals from them
  23. Sorry the ones I have are a bigger size. take one into auto stop and they can match something up, there are cheep and something else will fit no problem.
  24. What size are those wheel cylinders, I have a new set I think.
  25. I got a voltage regulator from speedway and it came it a box big enough to fir a 10 liter petrol can in and the rest was bags of USA air.
