  1. Not necessarily, in your case a sealed box, around the surge tank, with a drain outside and possibly reroute the hoses might be an easy ish fix?
  2. Yeah it will need to be sealed from the passenger compartment, either by sealing the boot 100% (harder than it sounds, rear firewall, parcel shelf, and up inside the rear 1/4 panels and pillars) Or, you could put it in a sealed box Or mount it outside the boot, under the floor a car that has a factory tank in the boot ie rx3 , if it's all factory then you don't have to change it. But if you made it efi, with a pump in the boot, then it would need to meet CCM requirements Pressurized fuel in the passenger compartment is the issue
  3. Short answer is no. Long answer is maybe, with a lot of fucking around. Lvvta has said you can make a new bar if you can prove it's the same as the original one. This is all we've been given, there's nothing in the rules yet, this is from training
  4. Related sharn, my mum had a Morrie when I was a kid, I remember the speedo needle was all over the place , including off the end of the speedo often down one particular hill, and even as a kid I remember thinking 'that's a lot of rpm mum'
  5. Nope, there's no minimum thickness, the design of the mount bracket is more important IMO than thickness. 4mm would be fine if the design is right. Even 'reputable' manufacturers get the design bit wrong...
  6. Could the strain gauge go in the engine mount? Would that lessen the wonky readings from bumps etc?
  7. Do you have someone you have annoyed in some way? When I was a kid, my dad had done something that I didn't like. He was rebuilding his wheelbarrow so I grabbed the axle and biffed it in the bush behind the house I never told him until I was in my 30s He was equal parts = you little shit = impressed that 4 year old me knew what part was critical and annoying to lose
  8. It's now a "grey area" It comes up fairly regularly as a lot of the time it's already been done when I see it Each time it comes up I send photos through to lvvta and they decide if it's OK or not I'd avoid it if you can as it creates unknowns, but if you want to do it, email lvvta first and see what they want /how it should be welded
  9. I can see many problems with it. I'd be fucked off if someone wrote my car off because they cable tied a bit of wood to a brake pedal so they could drive a big car (looks like a falcon dash to me) instead of doing it at least partially properly or choosing a car that fits them properly/better
  10. Looks ok to me? As long as it doesn't touch the driveshaft, should be fine. If you are worried about it you could make a hook or similar to keep it from getting closer
  11. A crisp high 5 to both of you for your rapid progress
  12. 1000% at least talk to a repair certifier first. I had a customer once who had to spend 13k uncovering repairs , getting it inspected and repainting it back to how it was at the beginning - ie just finished panel and paint.
  13. Gang members also have access to the information, you could try your local motorcycle club? ‘Significant breach’: NZTA employee passed on personal details for drugs | The Post VTNZ conducts review after privacy breach by Head Hunters' ghost unit - NZ Herald
  14. Yeah it's not great to mix radials and bias ply tyres, it can make for some interesting handling Nzdra rule book says
