Carpet in! It's OKish, bit baggy over the tunnel but I think I can cut and tighten it once I find a good console 

And just missed the seat belt auction on TM, gutted guess just wait for the next tidy ones to pop up

Need to find a tidy console so i can fit some sounds, otherwise buttoning up a few more pieces, to make it look clean in the meantime, will throw some covers on the seats cause they need trimming

Ordered belts but I think they've sent me the wrong ones, was really hoping to do a wof this week, oh well will relax and just get it sorted

Where abouts in Wellington are you? There are a couple of OS members who do wofs out Porirua/Plimmerton way.

Picked up some factory mk2 escort Recaro seat mounts, 

Seem to make the seats a bit high compared to the flat bar I had, but is alot more comfy overall, will leave them in for now, make something similar with less height will be ideal 

Grabbed a console, but due to gearstick placement I'm trying to think what might work better here instead 

Goes well, starts easy and drives well and even got the tyres squealing today

Looks so good, was going to say awesome to see it kept so oldschool on those yoko tyres and minilites. LOL shame you had to get rid of them but def looks better with the tyres fitting better.
Brings back so many memories for me. had a BUNCH of mk1's and 2's.

Yeah kinda wanted them to stay, but they wouldn't fit under the guards and i fixed the lips on them made it worse, and because they were so damn old they were very slippery so just had to go, and contemplating wheel choices atm, would like to try some 4 spokes

Broken engine unfortunately, screw unwound itself from choke butterfly and in it went, parked up for awhile and try find a zetec motor and parts to fit fml, I guess we'll see how far I get or it may end up sold, depressing not being able to blat around in it

Got my spare engine on a stand, about to pull it off bolt gearbox up and run a quick compression test and see if it's OK, throw a wild cam in with a gasket/seal kit, and see if it works I guess 

Would like to full rebuild it but I'm on the fence about actually throwing money on an old donk

Ah well, after being told by the engine reconditioners why bother with the pinto it's too old, looks like I've found a ST170, now to start spending some coin i guess

And I went to check out the ST with high hopes and willing to spend wayyyy to much coin just for a good engine, turned out to be bit of a dud, back to the drawing board, 

Today cleaned up and crack tested the pinto head and dropped off to get machined, get it back soon then do the assembly, hopefully have something to skid around in for summer at least!

Pinto escorts are a lot of fun. I had a panelvan years ago that used to piss the skyline brigade off up to about a hundy.... balanced, cam, single side draft etc ... then the max boosts would reel you in.

That looks wicked,  wanting a panel next! My old eskie was 208hp pinto but undrivable in the street, good on the motorway though

Few things done, head got new valves, seats and a skim, thrown it back together and got it in the car tonight, hopefully running by the weekend, sort another wof soon for summer cruising,
