tortron
no, not that kind There is some kind of bakelight or similar housing inside my water pump, and it looks like water has been getting past the edge where it presses into the cast iron housing. What can i gum it up with? some kind of Loctite or liquid gasket?

tortron
Epoxy/jb weld should be permanent? I might want to take it out without destroying it one day

SOHC
That might be a ceramic seal your talking about. runn the car more and it might stop leaking
Nominal
Here's what I've got, not sure if this is the same pump?
tortron
yeah i have that. its actually different on the inside. The piece im talking about is the part just infront of the impeller which has a felt seal and washer inside it , I assume it is the water seal. It is not leaking at the shaft, but rather a tiny dribble looks like its making its way around the edge I like the bit where it says to simply bang it in a lathe and braze a new part in * also these are expected to leak, they have a weep hole at the bottom
tortron
so I cleaned it up a bit more its a plastic seal with an internal spring which tightens it at the shaft rotates I assume. Its warped at one side, probably when someone replaced one of the bearings x years ago (one is made in England, the other USA) Now the fun part of finding a replacement. Edit* No way, I just walked in and out with a modern equivalent in 10 minutes.
Nominal
Seal and bearing places are usually good like that.
