jake.
I've been doing a bunch of work on brothers falcon the last couple weeks, its an 87 xf with the 4.1L pushrod anchor, it bent a push rod so ive had the head sent away to get it skimmed and the valves tidied up and what not. I've also bought a couple new lifters for it just to eliminate any chance of it bending more pusrods. Now my question is, how do i check the hydraulic lifters to see if they are good or not? The ute is question: This is what the lifters look like: Cheers guys, I have done a lot of googling for the answer already but everyone seems to say something different
Valiant
I'd replace all of them and add a set of new valve springs while I was at it.
smokin'joe
I'd replace all of it with a Valiant while I was at it.
igor
I'd go iron head for improved reliability but I'm just prehistoric.
Frosty
Bench test for lifters is dodgy at best due to them needing some oil pressure to work. You ether find out on start up because they tick or you replace the lot while the heads of.
