BattleSnayke
Hey all, I've got a set of XR4 longchamps I'm restoring and they're in need of new assembly bolts. Does anyone know what size bolts are needed for this?
Beaver
Silly question, but have you got the old ones?
KKtrips
Josh - as Beave says - take a sample into Coastal Fasteners and get them to supply you what you need in stainless. It'll be about $100 for a full set but better than buying in zinc or black which will discolour or even rust.
BattleSnayke
I shall do this. I was wanting to get something a little different to the standard silver bolts and can get a good price on bolts from WORK (blasphemy).
flyingbrick
stainless bolts are likely much weaker than the original items. Edit. To be clearer, from memory a 316 or 304 stainless bolt can have HALF the tensile strength of a high tensile steel grade 8 bolt.
4AG_Addict
That's true, but the bolts on Longchamps are only cosmetic. Unless you are planning on splitting the lips off them & getting wider outers.
