ODB
Had a pretty decent road test earlier. Reckon I must have burned some crap outta the exhaust earlier in the day cos it went a hell of a lot better. Prob had it up to about 60kms by the seat of the pants meter - was keeping up with cars along Halswell Rd haha.

ODB
Unfortunately wont be this week - have a work function that is compulsory. On the lookout for vintage bike dynamo headlight to fit my factory headlight in - this kinda style. If anyone has one lying around on an old healing cruiser or something will exchange for beverages of choice Likes to burn out tail lights without the headlight there it seems. ODB
Finished early today cos bawse and wandered down to the cycle joint in Woolston. Scored a neat old dynamo headlight that should do the trick! Inside of it Plan is to use a dremel and cut the actual bulb housing back a bit to fit the larger factory bulb and then weld or solder the factory holder into this See below when together. Will drill a hole out back and run factory wire - might even try and incorporate old school push on/off on the light housing for maximum pine. Pretty shit update but all i got for today
ODB
Just worked out today factory markers are fucking shit at balancing a rear wheel. Had to get the old measuring tape out and measure from the start of the swingarms lol In other news was successful in ripping baffle out sounds rowdy as a mofo now and goes a bit better but still not right - at least i dont think it will keep up at bike night yet lol

ODB
So, productive weekend was had. This happened: Performance has been less than stellar so decided to pull down/rebuild top end of engine. Rings are shot as going by the amount of carbon and gunk all the way down the piston body past the rings been getting a shit loan of blow through. Gudgeon/wrist pin was being an absolute prick and had to CRC/dry and then heat it with propane torch to get the thing out! The piston itself is scored all over so appears to have been overheating and touching the sides. Has also got a load of crap under the piston - im not sure what that means but dont think its supposed to be there! Inside of the barrel: Barrel and piston going to KG motorcycles in the morning to get bored out and refreshed. Whats best thing to clean all the shite off the outsides of the barrel/head off? Surely this must be impacting cooling ability!
BlownCorona
Try boiling it in water with citric acid in it. Worked for other alloy parts in the past
ODB
Prob just gonna get a wire brush attachment or a drill and use that mate - maybe chuck some degreaser on first.
xsinclairx
Ultra-sonic cleaner would be the best way, failing that de-greaser and a wire brush.
ODB
gave it a crack today with degreaser and wire brush and sandpaper. The barrel isnt so much dirty as rusty! Thinking maybe just spray black for that part. The head is looking a bit better after a lot of sand paper work and rooted hands! Still waiting for farken gaskets to put it back together!
