StuT
Yes still leaf with lowering block Not sure what involved in coiling it. Watt kit about $600 from uk or $1450 from chch!
0fnsiv
had your springs re packed? a watts linkage or panhardt is absolute useless with leaf springs and leaves work well when they're good...... there's heaps involved with coiling it.....like re-inventing the wheel...... and to be honest not really worth it unless you're doin targa or rally....get your springs repacked or get a single leaf conversion...... StuT
Thanks ofnsiv Packing do you mean bushings on end? Will investigate these options first
Yowzer
A quick googlie tells me you can buy complete 4 link kits to slap into the rear easily enough http://www.motorsport-tools.com/escort-mk1-mk2-heavy-duty-4-link-kit-complete-pro-spec-p-267864.html whether or not it's really worth it all depends on what you plan on doing with the car. The watts on its own won't really do all that much will it? Assuming the leaves and bushes are in good shape you shouldn't be getting much side to side movement anyway. 0fnsiv
any 4 bar kit for an escort or capri rendering the kiddie/the mrs' mates seats completely useless..... and to be honest doesn't work so well without a cage...... Re packing leaves means that the leaves are disassembled, re-tensioned, reassembled with new bands.... personally I'd get the single leaf conversion from the UK.....thats what most people who race them do
flyingbrick
Does it have to be a traditional four link though? There are other more compact designs that aren't as good( depending who you talk to) but are still worthwhile
