  5. Hi, anyone used a fuel system additive in a carb engine? Just wondering on any benefits of flushing out stuff. Or any sucess with octane boosters? Running old essex v6 with 96 and lead additive. Cheers
  6. Outlaw brakes are meant to fit under 13", been looking myself for my capri . Cheaper set up also.
  7. Wow thanks for that didn't know the laser option. I have the v6 mark 1 hubs which have a bigger deeper hat shape. Same as oz cortina. Not same as the most capri's escorts

  15. Manage to find some replacement rotors thanks to help from bnt. Don' t ask for v6 capri rotors ( everyone lists them wrong) order v6 cortina ones. Problem solved.
  16. Offset totally different alsoapprox 100mm from rotor to flange where bolts onto hub. As opposed to about 20mm. Most os forum say give up and get other struts
  17. Hey big mat I dwould be keen to see what you end up with. Doesn't see robe anything on market to help at moment. Who doing it for you!
  18. Thanks Nigel have been surfing all night and seems can't swap over hubs, onlt complete struts and hubs. Will try Repco or BNT tomorrow to see if can get new rotors. Need "big hat" version. Worst case try and tidy current ones up. Nothing on Tardme now. S
  19. Hi All i have V6 Mark 1 capri and need new front rotors. Problem is they odd style "hat type" Bolts thread from outside into the tread on rotor as opposed to thoer style Escort (some capri like 2.8's) bolts go thru from back of rotor threading into hub. Much more common and easier to get better rotors Question is will an escort hub go straight onto crapi V6 axle so i can use better rotors. thanks in advance Stu
  20. Hey all, Got a 3 litre v6 with type 5 (internal linkage) gear box. Problem is drops out of 2nd when changing down from 3rd. Goes great when rev'd and shift from 1st to 2nd. Anyone had experience rebuild one of these? I do have a Celica W50 (unknown condition) with proper bell housing to fit one day. How hard and $ to rebuild this? Still need to sort clutch and pressure plate (size?) Opinions welcome, porbably looking for the cheapest easiest fix first. About to get car re cert'd for other mods also Cheers Stu
  21. looks like a Atlas diff, which if so won't fit into escort diff. try getting the whole lot and fit in. I think it will be minimally wider overall. Good luck
  22. Just went thru same thing on my old thing with no experience 1st thing i di was a $10 test light from repco hooked the yellow up to light switch power red to cig lighter blk to any earth wire Good luck, Jaycar normally pretty cheap for speakers!
  23. Hi All Im at the point where i have to tell the painter the colour to stick on. I know the look Im going for just trying to make it all work. Question is which is the strighter, cleaner, white in the old school ford range? Choices seem to be Polar white, Diamond white (bit yellow i think), Ultra white....? others looking for a very crisp white to highlight the black(satin) blackouts. Could go for a modern colour Winter white on new focus/mondeos etc. Sounds stupid but want to use a ford colour! was gold and not going there Any help much appreciated
  24. Thanks all Will go with a W50, waiting on a reply from Steel Surgeons Dellow conversions look pretty professional and got back with a price. Heading over to Oz next month may end with that if not hear back from SS. Slowly making progress on project.
  25. I'm running a Essex V6 currently with a C4 slush box and wanting to make manualize. Sierra 5speed doesn't bolt straight on and not ideal for the torque i've been told. All suggestions lead to a W?? Toyota 5 speed. Question is how hard and what to look for? Sorry for the ignorance, like the old school rides just not a oldschool mechanic! (not a mechanic at all for that matter )
