Slacker_Sam.
I hate this car. Its CA31 Cefiro factory RB20DET. It doesn't have a distributor with points & condenser so I'm already out of my depth haha. It used to start up first pop. I replaced the headgasket & put it back together over a long period of time. Everything is as it was. Timing is spot on, everything is plugged in, compression is good. For some reason It had no spark when cranking. So I replaced the Cam angle sensor & Igniter pack. The coils are all new... Still no spark when cranking. However there is spark & injector pulse if you pull the CAS out and spin it. So I'm thinking voltage drop off when cranking? To top it off Its automatic so I can't try bump starting it. Remedy anyone?
Muncie
Learn how to do this and you'll love nissans again. the car knows whats fucked and will tell you how to sort it just follow steps below. Please read all the following instructions in full before you attempt to carry a fault code read out. Switch the ignition to the ON position but do not start the car. Depending on its orientation of the consult plug (see below) bridge the two lower left, or upper right pins on the consult plug with the wire paper clip for 2 seconds then remove the bridge. Observe and write down the sequence of flashed produced by the engine check light on the dash. using the information provided above. Once you are satisfied you have all the fault codes bridge the consult pins again and this will erase any stored fault codes and revert the ECU back its normal operation. Understanding the fault code readout:ECU fault codes are usually displayed on the engine check light on the dash, and are displayed by the number of flashes as well as the speed of the flashes. For example, an ECU showing no recorded faults will display code 55. The first digit is shown as 5 followed by a pause. This then followed by the second digit. This is shown as 5 short flashes. Thus Code 55 - all clear. Listed below are the fault codes for the skyline11 - Crank Angle Sensor/Camshaft Position Sensor12 - Air Flow Meter13 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor14 - Vehicle Speed Sensor21 - Ignition Signal22 - Fuel Pump23 - Idle Switch24 - Throttle Valve Switch25 - Idle Speed Control Valve26 - Boost Pressure Sensor27 -28 - Cooling Fan Circuit29 -30 -31 - ECM32 - EGR Function33 - Heated Oxygen Sensor34 - Knock Sensor35 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor36 - EGR Control-Back Pressure Transducer37 - Knock Sensor38 - Right hand bank Closed Loop (B2)41 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor42 - Fuel Temperature Sensor43 - Throttle Position Sensor45 - Injector Leak47 - Crankshaft Position Sensor51 - Injector Circuit53 - Oxygen Sensor54 - A/T Control55 - No Malfunction63 - No. 6 Cylinder Misfire64 - No. 5 Cylinder Misfire65 - No. 4 Cylinder Misfire66 - No. 3 Cylinder Misfire67 - No. 2 Cylinder Misfire68 - No. 1 Cylinder Misfire71 - Random Misfire72 - TWC Function right hand bank76 - Fuel Injection System Function right hand bank77 - Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit82 - Crankshaft Position Sensor84 - Automatic Transmission Diagnostic Communication Line87 - Canister Control Solenoid Valve Circuit91 - Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit right hand bank94 - TCC Solenoid Valve95 - Crank Position Cog98 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor101 - Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit right hand bank103 - Park/Neutral Position Switch Circuit105 - EGR and EGR Canister Control Solenoid Valve Circuit108 - Canister Purge Control Valve Circuit111 - Inhibitor Switch112 - Automatic Transmission Speed Sensor113 - Automatic Transmission 1st Signal114 - Automatic Transmission 2nd Signal115 - Automatic Transmission 3rd Signal116 - Automatic Transmission 4th Signal118 - Automatic Transmission Shift Solenoid Valve A121 - Automatic Transmission Shift Solenoid Valve B123 - Automatic Transmission Overrun Clutch Solenoid Valve124 - Automatic Transmission TOR Conv Solenoid Valve125 - Automatic Transmission Line Pressure Solenoid126 - Automatic Transmission Throttle Position Sensor127 - Automatic Transmission Engine Speed Signal128 - Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature SensorImportant note:Please take care if your going to carry out any such diagnostic procedure on your car and understand that this information is provided in good faith and we can accept no responsibility for any accidents, errors or inaccuracies should you decide to follow any of the information provided here. although it did work fine for me and after finding three fault codes and fixing them my skyline has never gone better. So good luck with this and just make sure you take caution when working out which ports to bridge i just faced mine upright and bridged the left hand bottom two and it worked first shot. Slacker_Sam.
I don't think the cefiro has a check engine light.
RUNAMUCK
Yes they do, but it's on the ecu itself. My shitfiro refused to go once, but I used a different means to put it into diagnostic mode. Moved some potentiometer (or something) to the right, counted the flashes. I think it was one, one two, one two three. Then turned it back to the left. Then it flashed it's flashes, and said what was wrong. ^^^^^^^the above may be completely wrong. Mine was a fail-tastic 20e turd.
Escorto.
Yea its on the ecu. Turn the switch thing (cant remember direction) EDIT: tis clockwise... Turn key on. And the light next to switch thing on ecu will flash codes. Mine wouldnt go. Did this and it flashed MAF code. Found a IC pipe had blown off when i did a skid on the lawn...
