RB20DET Will not start.. Help?

I hate this car. Its CA31 Cefiro factory RB20DET. It doesn't have a distributor with points & condenser so I'm already out of my depth haha.

It used to start up first pop. I replaced the headgasket & put it back together over a long period of time. Everything is as it was. Timing is spot on, everything is plugged in, compression is good. For some reason It had no spark when cranking. So I replaced the Cam angle sensor & Igniter pack. The coils are all new... Still no spark when cranking. However there is spark & injector pulse if you pull the CAS out and spin it. So I'm thinking voltage drop off when cranking? To top it off Its automatic so I can't try bump starting it.

Remedy anyone?

Learn how to do this and you'll love nissans again. the car knows whats fucked and will tell you how to sort it just follow steps below.

Please read all the following instructions in full before you attempt to carry a fault code read out.

  • Switch the ignition to the ON position but do not start the car.
  • Depending on its orientation of the consult plug (see below) bridge the two lower left, or upper right pins on the consult plug with the wire paper clip for 2 seconds then remove the bridge.
  • plug2.jpg
  • Observe and write down the sequence of flashed produced by the engine check light on the dash. using the information provided above.
  • Once you are satisfied you have all the fault codes bridge the consult pins again and this will erase any stored fault codes and revert the ECU back its normal operation.

Understanding the fault code readout:

ECU fault codes are usually displayed on the engine check light on the dash, and are displayed by the number of flashes as well as the speed of the flashes.

For example, an ECU showing no recorded faults will display code 55. The first digit is shown as 5 followed by a pause. This then followed by the second digit. This is shown as 5 short flashes. Thus Code 55 - all clear.

Listed below are the fault codes for the skyline

Important note:

Please take care if your going to carry out any such diagnostic procedure on your car and understand that this information is provided in good faith and we can accept no responsibility for any accidents, errors or inaccuracies should you decide to follow any of the information provided here. although it did work fine for me and after finding three fault codes and fixing them my skyline has never gone better. So good luck with this and just make sure you take caution when working out which ports to bridge i just faced mine upright and bridged the left hand bottom two and it worked first shot.

Yes they do, but it's on the ecu itself.

My shitfiro refused to go once, but I used a different means to put it into diagnostic mode. Moved some potentiometer (or something) to the right, counted the flashes. I think it was one, one two, one two three. Then turned it back to the left. Then it flashed it's flashes, and said what was wrong.

^^^^^^^the above may be completely wrong. Mine was a fail-tastic 20e turd.

Yea its on the ecu.

Turn the switch thing (cant remember direction) EDIT: tis clockwise...

Turn key on.

And the light next to switch thing on ecu will flash codes.

Mine wouldnt go.

Did this and it flashed MAF code.

Found a IC pipe had blown off when i did a skid on the lawn...
