Llama
Where did you hear that you'll be getting stung by customs? I'm pretty sure old car parts get exempt or something.

I bought some stuff a while back and got strung with some importing fees or something? I think it was because it was over $400.00 don't quote me on this though
Llama
It's not exactly $400, it varies for item to item. I think you might get charged GST as durty said, but since we don't produce car parts in NZ, I can't imagine their being any duty fees. anyho. Raizer
You have to pay GST on new parts if they cost over $400nz inc shipping cost. Second hand parts are GST free.
mfordy
Cheers, i bought the steering rack from burton power for 120 pounds What did they sting you for freight?
brendon
What did they sting you for freight? I think like 50 pounds! guess it's quite large, they used to have a 28 day shipping option. I would be more than happy to wait longer and pay less! I thought of inquiring maybe about some cheaper options o well next time.. still cheaper than trademe

brendon
Ok car has sat to the side for a bit now! went overseas, handed over the vehicle bay key (big shed which accomadates everything needed to work on cars) have been on waiting list since. Looks like ill be getting a key next week! so work can carry on ..been thinking about this for a while now.. just proitys have changed a bit this year, think i will put the 1600 back in coupled to a 5 speed type 9 + a rebuilt diff. Just going to allow me to still drive the car for summer etc plus its still orginal. One day i will go all out and make it a crazy "street legal track car" but for now getting a house is more important to me. Hate it or love it think its what i'm going to do for now ....one day though This is a little of what i have been up to. Basically re-done all the welding inside the cabin Didn't plan on it but basically replaced all drivers floor Plus some of the passengers Will update proper once im back, plus take a few more photos of the stuff im doing etc
