shizzl
ive got a mechanical water temp gauge i wanna chuck on the cortina cos the original one doesnt work... has anyone fitted one of these to a pinto before? theres no where in the radiator to screw it into, and cant see anywhere suitable in the block/head/manifold... this is the type on a black sprial cord with the wire inside, the end looks like a detonator, and has the fitting above that... its a classic oldschool looking gauge, has a better sweep than the electric sender variant in this range.. running this would be sweet,if i cant find a way to use ill have to give in to the ugly electric sender option... ive seen the sender run into the radiator hose and a shitload of silicon around it then hose clamped...ranga as but it may work..not to keen on ranga mods though your thoughts?? surely someone has been there before
tortron
does it have a male or a female thread? you can get adapters that you splice into the radiator lines My morrie has an undrilled/tapped boss in the head

Rookie
I have one of those on my Lotus. What I did was took the extra adaptor that came with the gauge to the local radiator shop and got him to easyflow/solder it onto the side of the filler cap piece I already had. You could probably do the same but just add a straight bit of copper pipe as opposed to the filler cap like I did. You can just see it in this photo.
