J-W-G
Hey guys been looking round but cant seem to find why 2.8 billys are better than normal escort struts. All i seem to find is 'Billys are better' just cant find why, so if someone can tell me why that would be great Pure
glen
Capri struts if i remember correctly have more meat around the hub area. They were a upgrade for rally cars as it helps with not breaking off the stub axles when you land a big jump. Billstein shocks will be better becasue they just are realy, a lot more $ then standard spec ones.

Gaz
As all said above. 2.8i struts have the webbing at the base to strengthen the stub axle, easy to add yourself to any capri strut The bilstiens are a much better and rebuildable shock, I think these ones also had a bleed nipple in the base under the stub axle The spring cup is 1" lower than escort struts They are expensive and hard to find Gaz
sholdowa
Billys are gas assisted shocks - nitrogen at high pressure helps the oil when it's getting hammered. The struts are put in upside-down - the thick part of the strut uppermost, and the thinner inner rod is screwed through the base of the housing, with a locknut. Which always rusts up solid. The capri struts are best used to build from these days - they have removeable steering arms, and as mentioned are 1 inch shorter than the escort ones. I don't think they were wedged as standard, but it's pretty simple to do.
