felixx
OK I have a plan.. Once they stop putting poo in the rivers... Get some cheap (warehouse $20) boats or inner tubes Jump on them at uni with suitable supplies to assist hydration Drift thru monavale, CBD, eastern suburbs, Get out at ferrymead More beers at ferrymead then get the loser cruiser back to uni and go home. Might be a good summer meat
Bullitt
We used to do the first part of that when we had a flat on Carlton Mill Road. Start at uni, get to our flat then finish a crate before midnight Looks to me the Avon doesnt go to ferrymead though, it goes through eastern suburbs to New Brighton. felixx
I checked with a maritime enforcement officer for ecan,There is no bylaw stopping non motorised craft travelling down the avon or heathcote rivers
Horse25
The Heathcote was a toxic waste dump before the earthquakes......... this, plus the current is too slow, I think heading down the waimak would be awesome, I usually going swimming in it during the summer near the state highway 1 bridge or up at the dam, as long as its not norwest haha
felixx
yeah I have pulled 3 bodies out from under the old highway bridge.. as well as a couple out from willow trees further up... They were Kayakers. Also the jetboaters are mental and cannot give way to you
Cullen
i vote waimak also
felixx
OK, due to my role in a certain organisation with orange boats I have to clear of the waimak, but I will be able to assist you if you go over the bar!
RUNAMUCK
We took the old mans runabout over the 'mak bar about 19 years ago. I have to say it was kinda exciting. (I was shitting bricks) I wouldn't want to try it with too few horsepower, or when the surf was really big.
felixx
hehe I cross it about 500 times a year, the worst was when a boat had sunk down the coast and we were tasked to go look for the victims at midnight, 60 knot SW..
RUNAMUCK
So you'd be in a rubber duckie then? They're probably better suited to bar crossings than 6m fibreglass hulls.
felixx
6.8 Naiad wit 2 x 150 E tecs on the back.. Coastguard all the way sweetheart!
RUNAMUCK
Niads have the inflatable pontoons on an Aluminuim hull aye? Two 150's would have sweet torque for towing broken down cunts/submerged vessels.
