karlb
hey guys I know what your all thinking is why??!!! As you know I have a 1600 Ex Lancer and have a 1300 sitting in my garage that i want to stick in it for the mean time while i rebuild my 1600. I know when you transplant a 1600 into a 1200 etc you need the 1600 cross member. now to fit the 1300 in will I be able to do it with 1600 cross member in and also using the 5 speed? OSM Garage
Im not sure. Ive got a crossmember to suit a 4G11 you can have for $20. With engine mounts if they're needed. (i think)

karlb
hey fuel its a 4g11 edit. sorry its a 1200 not a 1300
Ogre
you need to change cross member unless you can come up with a way to make a crazy offset engine mount for the LHS.It will bolt to your gearbox, but not to sure about the clutch. Its prob a whole lot easier to find a 4g32 engine and rebuild that and then just swap them over when your done. Jif
what engine is the 1300 exactly? You don't know? Mind blown
fuel
what engine is the 1300 exactly? You don't know? Mind blown No Jif, my point was that the EX Lancer doesn't come out with a "1300". He knew to go from a 1200 to a 1600 you need to change the crossmember, so was wondering exactly what engine this "1300" is which perhaps wouldn't have required a crossmember change to go from a 1600.
