MichaelJFox
Has been running decently (bit fucked) till' like, a few days ago. Shudders like a bitch when taking off and won't start running smooth till up about 4,500rpm then it goes like a stabbed rat. Probably a stupid question, but I've got a cold and cbf'd thinking. Replaced fuel filter cos' I ran it near dry but no luck. Timing? Cheers. Steed in question;
mikuni
I think these are CV carbs, so maybe check that the vacuum slides aren't stuck open or anything like that. I think one (or more) of them being stuck open could cause symptons such as what you are describing. Pretty easy to get to also, just whip off the air filter cover although you might need to pull the mesh off also if you can get a good look in there, which you probably won't be able to due to it being tucked against the firewall. keltik
Do those carbs have the little dash pot on the top that needs to be topped up every now n then? Had a twin carb B20A once but never bothered looking
MichaelJFox
Oh, I have no idea. Would a photo of the engine bay help? I had a look into the carbs yesterday and from what I could see everything moves alright, and moves back.
keltik
If the carbs do have a dashpot, it will be at the top of the carb and look like a plastic cap maybe the size of a 20cent piece.
mikuni
^ 99.6% sure they don't, they aren't SU's or anything, they are Heishin or something Japanese CU carbs like bike carbs.

MichaelJFox
Have had a poke around, gonna check everything I can think of soon, clean all the mental air lines everywhere on these things. Another thing is it started running like a pig again today, maxing out like 20 up a hill misfiring like fuck, almost stalling when I come to a halt, but when I put it in park or neutral it runs fine?! kyteler
So under load it's hamburgers. Vacuum lines/Vacuum secondaries up the shit. Check all hoses aren't perished. There's a fuckload of them on those Honda CV Carb setups IIRC.
