OSM Garage
Since the other thread has been locked ill chuck my question for Fuel up hurr Can you bolt Evo 4,5,6 heads on to say, a Starion block or Evo 1,2,3 block? Would that fix the problem of no engine mount castings and bellhousing differences?
fuel
as title would a gsr motor rwd as easy as a evo 4g63 early 4G93 uses same bellhousing pattern as the VR-4/Evo1-3 engine but you'll have RWD flywheel issues. The 4G93 block doesn't have the castings for RWD mounts either. I wouldn't recommend the 4G93, if you push them too hard they run bearings and will throw a rod out the side of the block. Oil drains are in the wrong place from memory, basically the head is just mirrored from one side to the other - you can even use an Evo4+ rocker cover on an evo1-3 engine but the cambelt covers wont interchange. lowlancer
You sure about the mount castings Phil? There was a fellow on here to dropped one in his EX, from memory it was a bolt in jobbie

LILVR4
what about the 4g61t dohc?
dwlee
I have seen 4g92 mivec engines fitted rwd drive in an LA Lancer (major firewall mods) and in an Escort (do a google search under mivec escort) so since the 4g93 block is basically the same it is possible. I know it will be more complex than fitting a 4g63, but I don't by how much. A 4g61 block is basically the same as the 6-bolt 4g63 accept they don't have balance shafts fitted and deck height is 6mm lower (hence the 4g63 rwd water pump will not fit). The difficulty level in fitting a 4g61t is the same as fitting a 4g63t.
