Toucan
Supercheap do a tidy small one for $30 odd that many of us use, goes to 8 from memory. Mine was taped to the steering column but i'll throw it in properly at some stage.

Spencer
dear god are you joking? any ideas of the stress on the poor thing at 10k? and it will make no power up there. How bigs the cam and what carb/s etc? my bet it would be all out of puff by 6k max
Gaz
8k.. what the fuck have ya done to it lols. Just fork out for a proper one. At least you can depend on it.
mikuni
Either way, power or not it'll be rattling so fucking hard at 8k+rpm that you'll be wanting to change gear. No need for a 10krpm monstar tacho with (shift light) on the dash just yet

mikuni
Do you mean from another car? I've seen people get full autogauge setups to replace everything. Looks good. Costs bad. Think $1500-2000. lol
Snoozin
Just slam a standard factory Sprint dash in there they read to 7k (iirc) and I seriously doubt you'll be making any useful power past that anyway, like Mikuni said, you'll know when you need to change gear. Snoozin
Um. Cut a hole in firewall and bellhousing, and draw a dot on the flywheel... then count how many times it's going round. In other words, er, no. Other option would be a kitset from Jaycar electronics for one of their digital tacho's, I assume they still make them and if you're ok with a soldering iron they're a doddle to make
Gaz
My full in dash autometer setup was around $1000 Includes: Tach Speedo Oil press Oil temp Boost Water temp Fuel Those Jaycar digital things is also what I was going to mention.. they are cheap as too... OR.. Jaycar also make a rev limiter.. yuou could just set that to 8k then youll never go over it?
Toucan
Yea other option as richie has said is find a starlet sprint with the same style dash an use the whole instrument cluster. I didnt have any luck looking for one, the drop hatch starlets have a square-ish dash different to that of the earlier ones

Gaz
You'll prob need a tacho first time you start the engine. This is because you'll need to run the cam in at certain revs so you'll need an acurate tach to tell what revs its doin.
