Um. Cut a hole in firewall and bellhousing, and draw a dot on the flywheel... then count how many times it's going round.

In other words, er, no.

Other option would be a kitset from Jaycar electronics for one of their digital tacho's, I assume they still make them and if you're ok with a soldering iron they're a doddle to make :)

My full in dash autometer setup was around $1000

Includes:

Tach

Speedo

Oil press

Oil temp

Boost

Water temp

Fuel

Those Jaycar digital things is also what I was going to mention.. they are cheap as too... OR.. Jaycar also make a rev limiter.. yuou could just set that to 8k then youll never go over it?

Yea other option as richie has said is find a starlet sprint with the same style dash an use the whole instrument cluster. I didnt have any luck looking for one, the drop hatch starlets have a square-ish dash different to that of the earlier ones
