Orange
I'm going to be getting some new extractors for my cortina. Trying to decided which would suit my car best, so far everyone I've asked have had a different opinion on them, with no real explanation. 4-2-1 or 4-1 on a rather standard 2L pinto? Cheers
mikuni
As far as I've heard 4-2-1 is for more midrange torque, while 4-1 is more top end power. But I think this is rather generallised as length of runners etc comes into it aswell I assume.
RT
thats how it is. 4-2-1 good for bottom end torque.. 4-1 top end. choose your poison.
lowlancer
So 4-2-1. Surely would better suit pinto?
mk5corty
wheres that exhaust site link, we had this discussion before and im sure we came to the conclusion that unless it is a well worked engine the differences are negligible. peteretep
yeah kyteler talked about it ages ago. On a pussbucket road car, even mildly tuned, you wouldnt notice the difference either way
Orange
Thanks for that, ordered some 4-1's, the guy at coby didnt want to sell me 4-2-1's for some reason, but that doesnt matter.

Orange
That probably was it, I wasn't talking directly to him, I asked about both incase one was cheaper than the other.
Gaz
Coby ones are shit. For an extra $200 you can get custom ones made that are mandrel, larger dia pipe and semi tuned.

Orange
That would have been too far out of my price range, I'm not supposed to be spending money on this car, and I've almost spent what the car cost me haha.
