zep
Hey, Does it matter where inline the fuel filter goes? I have had to get an EFI one (as I'm going EFI) and would like to mount it in the boot after the fuel pump if I can, rather than in the engine bay... Is this Ok to be done, I can't think of any way it would affect the flow or pressure of the fuel.. Leon
Raizer
Na in the boot will be fine, alot of/some newer cars have them in the back from factory, a pre pump filter could be a good idea as well.
crazy_rich
make sure u mount it at the highest point of your fuel system, otherwise everytime u change ur filter petrol will piss out everywhere... but i guess that goes without saying. what size surge tank are you running? zep
Haha, that's what hose clamps are for! I'm using a 1.5lt surge tank. If I'm using the stock electric pump in the tank as the lift pump, can I just use a carby fuel filter between this and the surgetank? Raizer
Afaik a plastic filter will be all good before the high pressure pump. id still use a steel 1 to be safe.

RT
I use a non efi filter straight after the tank.. then a huge efi one in the engine bay by the chassis rail.
FIAT
The filter can be placed anywhere after the EFI pump. You NEED to use a screen filter before the efi pump too.
SYKOV6
a filter in or under the engine bay is a good thing in older cars unlees u have new fuel lines. it helps stop scale from old lines cloging injectors etc . some modern cars have 2 1 at back by pump and 1 in engine bay. injection hates dirty fuel
