thminiman
yea i was gonna say he brings them in, as far as i know the seats themselves are getting more and more expensive aswel.
peteretep
well I asked him if it was still 850 and he didnt say no so I assume its the same, I wouldnt be surprised if he has put his prices up though, it will still be cheaper than anyone else that I know of
thminiman
yea definatly, he has a few contacts that not many people in NZ have, he had a set of seats there last time i was there very nice quality seats, although IMO there are others cheaper. my plans for seats are MX5 seats. ( ) my main reason being is that, even though there out of a convertable, they slide forward on rails as well as recline forwards at a good angle. On top of that, they have speakers in the headrest = benifit for a car as small as mine where im strugling for space for any speakers. Also, it would be around $200 bux for a good condition pair, with rails. which is, yea, a little better than
peteretep
yeah there are plenty of options around, I just want to keep everything low in my car, as it came from the factory - nothing above the windowline, otherwise mx5 seats would probably be a go, my sis has a mx5 so I know all about them hehe
thminiman
how do the seats in the escort go forward in order to get into the backseat at the moment? just rails?
peteretep
nah they are on a hinge at the front, and move forward in a rail thingy, its a cheap shitty setup really, now im left with a box section across my floor, which is why standard rails dont fit
thminiman
yea same as minis really, i think

cute wee gem
I think you may be suprised if you degrease that engine bay it may come out looking brand new. my old colts engine bay was very dirty/oiled up and once degreased it looked 10x better than the original paint on the body
peteretep
yeah I did give it an average degrease, its more needs a paint because of all the surface rust

peteretep
thanks man, yeah you can post where ever you so desire. I just painted my engine ford blue, my dad bought it from repco I think. And yeah I have mk2 struts and booster, you also need a mk2 steering rack as the mk1 stuff is imperial and mk2 is metric (something like that). Are you painting your car yourself? You should put up your car in the projects section, upload your pics on http://www.imageshack.us btw have just ordered my cobra classic bucket seats, should be here before christmas
