Stacov
thats right my car vibrates and no it doesnt have a giant dildo in the exhaust Anyone got any ideas? and its not a small vibrate everything shakes! from steering wheel to wheels to all panels and its loud inside the car real annoying. It only ever started when we put the 1600 into the car It starts from the front and makes it way to the back of the car. could engine mounts or engine being to low in engine bay cause this? or something else? cheers
two_days_late
theres a good chance its the hanger bearing on the centre of your driveshaft, same thing happened to me, needed a new rubber and stuff, seemed to fix it. cheers Matt
Stacov
doubt it that because we took out the spilt driveshaft and put in a 1 peice shaft any other ideas?
240KGT
doubt it that because we took out the spilt driveshaft and put in a 1 peice shaftany other ideas? hope the new one was balanced. at what speed it start doing the shake could be many things as in gearbox mount could be fecked flywheel loose the list is endless start at the front of car and anything you had apart or replaced check out but its normaly the driveshaft that will do it just because its new it can still go outa balance real quick ie the balance weight can fall off
Stacov
its not a new driveshaft its off another escort but it also did it with the old driveshaft and does it as soon as u start the car everything shakes and gets worse/loud when u rev it @ idle and its pretty must constant when driving. tryed 2 different flywheels still does it could be anything as u said
240KGT
mmmmmmmmmmm the plot thickens ok what about engine mounts is the motor sitting on the sump
2DR73XA
maybe check the drive shaft lenght and, if its a bit to short it wont fit in the trans properly.......and will wobble, does the car vibrate in neutral? if so then its not the drive shaft, then maybe check your engine mounts....... cheers

RT
what sort of gearbox are you using? if it's too big and touches the trans tunnel that would vibrate pretty bad.
Guest 78lancer
did u mark the drive shaft when u took it out? because sum drive shafts are balanced at the diff and gearbox if they arent key-wayed n need 2 b aligned or they wil vibrate... or it cud b ur u.v joint
