Horsepower output questions

Anyone know the horsepower output (not brakehorsepower!) of a standard mk5 cortina engine?

With everything standard, if possible information on the german assembled one would be excellent.

maybe ull find something there i cant be bothered looking coz its insanely huge

found this at http://home.flash.net/~lorint/lorin/convert.htm

Horsepower is a measurement of the engine's ability to perform work. One SAE horse is the ability to lift 33,000 lbs one foot in one minute. One DIN horse is the ability to lift 450000 kg one cm in one minute. For the same power the SAE measurement is thus 98.629% of the metric DIN measurement.

If you see the term bhp, it just means "brake horsepower", which is the actual usable horsepower delivered to the rear wheels of the car. It is so named because a brake is applied to determine how much pressure is needed to stop or absorb the power. bhp could reference either DIN or SAE horsepower.

Power is effectively torque times rpms, so if you keep the same amount of torque and double the revs, you double the effective power. This is why most engines have the highest horsepower rating at higher RPMs. And along those lines, you can have an engine that has lots of horsepower at higher RPMs, but not much energy at lower RPMs where it counts off the line, so often torque ends up being a more interesting measurement than horsepower

Didnt some come with 4 valves per cylinder?

And differences in the inlet and outlet ports for better flow?

Arent the valves a better shape and hardened etc?

And better to turbo?

Hopefully better fuel economy than the 2liter ive got now?

Its had a bit of work done to it (top secret) and it goes through the gas like crazy spits flame and is pretty rough etc.

Im taking a gamble that even though the new engine may consume alot of fuel , ill be able to get more out of it.

horesepower 96hp at 5200 rpm

torque 111 lbf ft / 15.4 kgf m

What size engine? My celeste makes more torque and hp and its only 1600 single carb. Not trying to put anyone down or nothing, I'm just confused cos I though mk5 cortinas had 2lt engines, and therefore should have more hp and definately more torque... maybe I'm just an idiot.
