I would say there will still be a couple more this year. Seems to be a monthly thing so far.My engine is a second hand as well.What diff are you going to go for with the five speed 4.1 or a 3.9? I run a 3.9 on a four speed and think its magic have had a 3.5 in before good for a cruise but not so good for down low. 4.4 is just trouble lol

Its alive got it running yesterday and there is a difference from the old engine the new one doesn't leak oil and it revs past 7000 rpm. Which was a shock. Roll on the 30th Jan next track day then I can see what the real difference is. But still the vibration hasn't gone away there can only be two things now a bent rear axle or the gear box ??? Every thing else is brand new or been replaced. Need to get a new radiator now it has a small crack around the top hose bugger. Not sure which way to go? Get an alloy one or stay with factory as my fan is only 4mm away from the front pulley.

Looking good what did you do to your engine? We are going for another track time at Hampton downs on the 30th twilight should be fun if your keen?

I have a xmas present picked myself up a new engine still with the xflow as I don't want to cert my car. It's meant to have 1300 pistons 60 thou over bore balanced lightened fly wheel double value springs ported head 42mm inlet and 35mm exhaust values and a bcf3 cam. I have spent the last week cleaning it up and painting it ready to go in. I got into the job today and took the engine out so I should have the new one in soon ish I'm keen to see what the big values work like with the bike carbs the list grows every time I touch the car I hope it goes well as my old engine only ran a standard bottom end. I think my current head has been ported better but I don't have the big values and double springs in my current one. The wait is going to piss me off to see what it goes like.

My xmas present is on its way slowly but should be all ready for this.

What is the cost to have some thing like this done??

So was already heading out to the BBQ for a drive getting along on the motorway when I heard something bounce off the under neath of the car and I seen something flying out the back pulled off the motor way to have a look in a nice south Auckland area only to find my alternator hanging there not really where it should be so limped it home for repairs So while I was swearing trying to find bolts to fit and not to long. I found this as well who knows the lock tabs where still in place. I have picked up a new engine should be interesting. As I only run a standard bottom end at the moment expect for the cam.

Merry Xmas to me finally got some louver clips from the deep south and I picked up an alloy rocker cover.It comes with an engine still stuff to be done on it yet.

Mine used to spit raw fuel out of number 2 and 3 until we got them balanced right .

I have a carb balancer that I bought specially for the carbs makes life very easy with out one they will always be a problem. Once balanced they are magic and sound great. Pm if you need some help but balance before buying parts

I have factory brakes and 2 track days now and still haven't run out of brakes. I'm going to look at upgrading to carpi disks later no rush at the moment.Might just put some green stuff brake pads in

Yeah was in Repco in the weekend and ordered a set 8am Monday they called to say they don't do them anymore. I haven't been able to find any stock so far. I have found some one on trade me but $6 each the louvers cost less than that. As for faster on track days I'm working on a couple of things only need a couple of sec's to pass you max lol

I scored a set of louvers love them or hate them they are old school but hard to get clips for I'm still looking found someone on trade me that has them but if any one knows help would be great on where to get them. Last track day had it's cost snapped a exhaust stud off in the head bugger. just need to get started on fixing the oil leaks now they drive me nuts. Have a small plan under way. But now the new wheels have to wait .

I have had a few people tell me I should run an air box for the bike carbs then others tell me that there should be enough draw so they wont need one. I got some motor cross air filters for mine and I don't run a fuel reg either. I vote for bike carbs they sound and perform very well.

lots of people get them but finding some one that can tune them is a different story

You need a low pressure high flow fuel pump. I got one from part master for $90 for my set up. Sounds to me like over fuel

Track day went well had to much oil in the engine so to drain some off and still have the oil leaks got a new gear box tail shaft seal but a few beers to many on the Friday night before and it's still on the work bench with stuff waiting to go on the car. sold my wheels so rocking the skinny's now they don't look to bad going to get some new wheels later. check out the camber on the front wheel new strut mounts needed and adjustable camber with having to put a cert plate on her. So now I need a LSD as i was wheel spinning on the inside wheel on more than half the corners and some better semi slicks as mine are just to worn. the rebuilt 3.9 diff was magic for Hampton Downs. I was 4 sec faster per lap than before and M_C V6 only made 200 meters over 4 laps but he did take the time to go on the scenic route which was interesting right in front of me on turn one.Check out the escort oldschool take over.

I need new tyres those one's are had it my road tyres are just as good.I have been looking but they are costly. I have wheel spin on over 50% of the corners at Hampton just cant get enough power down an LSD would be magic

I held back lol there was rocks and crap flying every where that not to count which way was your car going to go. I was wondering when you where going to brake for turn 1 .Funny how a little 1.6 can keep the pressure on a big V6. Great day maybe next time we will get a few more come out.
