  17. also fitted the sway bar with new D bushes and link bushes. and the steering is almost back together have put the idler back together with new bushes, replaced all four tie rods, and had the ball joint in the steering arm sent away and re-conditioned, is there any thing in the steering box i should do while its all out? fuel tank all painted up had the steelies sand blasted and primed need to get painted or powder coated soon so i can fit the whitewalls and get it rolling again. after the tanks back in will start getting the motor box and drive shaft all cleaned
  18. made some more progress lately have got all the brakes sorted, brand new cylinders and shoes all round, cleaned up all the hard pipe. bit of a weird set up having two cylinders each corner and a bleed nipple every cylinder. have also cleaned up and painted fuel tank and checked sender unit, 1st tank i started to clean up turned out a bit rusty and when i was wire brushing it holes started appearing where it had got so thin luckily the other tank i had was solid as and cleaned up well. sender unit went from approx 130 ohms at full down to roughly 5 ohms at empty (sound about right?)
  19. have got most of the front suspension back together today, replaced wheel bearings, waiting on wheel cylinders now to finish it off, next job get sway bar and steering back together. Also scored some 14" copper trendsetter whitewalls, need to get rims painted and clean up hubcaps ready to chuck them on and get it rolling again
  20. pressed in the lower control arm bushes and assembled top arms, dummied up the ball joints, bump stop and spindle to work out how much of the the spring i need to stay captive. have trimmed up a pair of springs to suit (have a couple of spare pairs if its too much off). next on the list is some new bolts for ball joints and clean up the bump stops, strip and paint the backing plates/drums and get the wheel bearings sorted then may be able to get it back on some wheels next weekend, have got some wheel dollies to put it on and then will cover it up and push it to one side things are going to get messy stripping back this cab and well side! Few boxes of all the new bits, starting to add up but it will be worth it
