  1. Not too sure sorry, i just extended the wires from the original plate lights down to the new lights so they flicked on with the headlights etc. You can buy number plate bolts with LED's in them, could be a go?
  2. I'm at least 3% sure that the lights don't need to be factory issue, my mx5 has a modified mr2 license plate light because i relocated it to the bumper and it has passed a wof a few times now. As long as the plate is sufficiently illuminated I wouldn't see what the problem is?
  3. You'll definitely do them more justice than I would have so quite happy to let them go haha. Just wanting to slam my car until I get the sack to go to a drift day or something, I bought the teins he had listed instead Loving the exhaust by the way, came out awesome.
  4. Ah so it was you who bet me to those silk road coilovers haha, missed out by minutes he said
  5. just checked the ecu and it seems to be fine, will do some checks re the fuel etc when i can, have been putting it off as i dont have the tools for it at the moment smells rich also, but it does have no exhaust past the passengers seat ..
  6. Being in a VL, it has a couple of issues stopping it getting to the wof station under its own power Sometimes it just cranks and cranks with no fire, When it does fire up it does so straight away If you let it idle for more than 5-10 seconds it starts spluttering and sometimes drops a cylinder or 2 Abrupt throttle input is met by stalling/almost, but if you do it slowly it will rev happily. If you put it under load (moving it) it will stall unless you neutral drop it into gear. It's in an auto if that makes any difference Any ideas of things to try out? Have cleaned the plugs and contact points, and put new fuel in. Trying not to replace parts at the moment but will if i have to Thanks in advance
  7. what is the detail on those hubs? sorry if i've missed it haha. sweet build so far.
  8. Got a 3sge out of an mr2, found a bellhousing for a w5x gearbox however still searching for the box. Gave it a degrease and a waterblast today, came out nice and tidy. Currently sitting like this, very sad. but i got some spacers for the rear and im pretty happy with that now.
  9. so it was you who showed up to that mx5 meet the other day
  10. Paramount Engineering in Silverdale do them aswell if you're on the north side of auckland, have done a few myself there.
  11. SW20, 3sge sorry probably should have specified, will be going into my ke30 Have grabbed all the things in the boot and the fusebox is about to be pinched so thanks, also xsspeed were you wanting to buy the manual driveshafts? not sure what theyre worth so havent replied to your question yet, lol
  12. Recently removed a donor engine from an MR2 to transplant, before i send it to the crusher what else should i grab off it to make things go a bit smoother for its new home? Thanks in advance.

    PAINT THREAD

what should i use to paint this and stuff like it to prevent rust and stuff, its bare metal mostly at the moment POR15? something else similar? doesnt have to look pretty just has to work
  16. >shit just got real >scroll down >gif of man getting stacked by a lawnmower in your sig aha oh god my sides
  17. not gonna be putting them on unfortunately! as much as i'd love them they just won't fill out the guards enough how are your works coming along? should be in your hands now huh
  18. New rims, some muppet redrilled the rears to 4x110 for 'mean skids au' need some spacers for the rear, but i have some poke on the front! stoked as.
  19. This isn't the underbody of my car, just some random one off the internet however my one is the same so maybe it is an aftermarket exhaust? I really don't know but it's too loud for a daily driver. As you all can see I have no idea of the workings of an exhaust haha, perhaps going back to a factory exhaust would be a good idea for a guaranteed fix. The other muffling is the thing between A and B, that's about it.
  20. Below, we have the underbody of an mx5, with mufflers A and B labelled. Now, lets set the scene of the crime. Muffler B is currently a straight pipe leading to a noise amplifying fart canon. "B" will be referring to the cannon. Muffler A is the catalytic converter. I'm looking to replace A with a straight pipe, and B with a straight pipe also. Removing A will make the car louder if I am correct, however. Replacing B with a straight pipe will remove the cannon and lower the sound level in theory. So what I'm asking is will replacing A and B with a straight pipe make the car louder, quieter, or the same? Thanks in advance, lads!
  21. hohohaha my god that first pic is raised as hell. looks like a lifted 4x4. Looks so much better now, and those wheels are sweet.
  22. Never actually ended up doing it, went with the advice from other oldschoolers like durty saying it could get hot etc. But you would never notice it was under there. Put it under the passengers seat eventually.
  23. thanks for the info, i probably didn't word it too well but they were bent from the previous owner - also a skinny guy,i tried to bend the last flap to match up, should I bend them back or leave them as is? don't want to wreck them.
  24. i probably laughed more than i should have. it wont be under there anymore will be in the boot with the sub if i end up putting it in haha. cheers nathan! it isn't that bad really but i'm looking forward to it suprisingly there isn't much residue left on the floor, but there is alot on the gearbox tunnel so i'll leave that to the ice for the remainder
  25. Well I havent done much to this at all, its rustier, and it's in the garage now. So thats good. Stripped the interior except the rear seat, cant get that motherfucker out, and tried removing the sound deadening. After 2 hours on the heat gun I gave up and I shall be purchasing some dry ice tomorrow. Also I bought some seats, unsure if I'll use them at this stage but I mostly bought them for the black leather. Also the sides are bent in a little to fit a skinny frame, except 1 side, it's resisting.
