  1. I did wonder if that would work, I had issues with my starion sohc turbo setup it keept melting the brake and cluch reservoir and was something I don't want to happen on this.
  2. comment away, any help with advice on this would be much appreciated. first dohc 4g63 build for me. also if anyone wants little interior bits I do have some that wont be needed. just hit me up.
  3. so stuff I have to put in this, starion 2 litre crossmember, starion lower arms, starion struts and brakes, engine is to consist of starion wideblock g63b, vr4 internals, choice of either evo or vr4 head, rwd intake etc. engines are in pieces atm need putting together. im going with the starion block simply so I can run a hydraulic clutch and starion gearbox. for strength and reliability. build will be mild for now as funds allow, but thankfully my cousin works for a1 turbos and is willing to lend a hand with the build.
  4. long time since an update have just been daily this for a while, but I do get the motivation to do stuff every now and then, put the extractors on with 2" pipe all the way through to a 2" coby at the rear, sounds alrite considering lack of muflers. also the new ex I got came on pretty mint 15x8 rota rkr wheels with 195/45 tyres so I put them on to keep it looking floss
  5. I I used e30 superlows in the front of mine and cut 1 coil off, rear were ke70 superlow front springs put in the rear with 1 coil off. and my ex lancer has same frnt setup but 626 superlows that are cut in rear, basically just find a stiffish spring that fits and cut it so you have low with a stiffer ride, then just get your shocks shortened. ive had my old wagon go through vtnz like that uncaptive cuts on a pink sticker and pass so it must be algood with them haha
  6. for a while ive been trying to find another ex lancer and managed to sus this one. it aint anything pretty but that's just what I like. plan is to build it as a skid/drift hack but keep plates live incase I decide to cert it later down the track details so far, 1980 shell, 1.3 motor and 5 speed (for sale), adjustable shocks in front( not weled yet), no springs in back, red bucket seats, and gangsta tacho on the dash pic dump.
  7. does anyone know if its possible to dohc a 2.6 mitsi motor out of l200 using an evo or vr4 head? toying with the idea if it works as I have spare vr4 head and ute could use some more power.
  8. have sussed a vr4 4g63t dohc turbo motor off a mate, had a cracked gasket but comes with new head. will do new bearings and rings, gaskets etc and get this puppy ready to drop in but may take a while as funds to do this don't grow on trees. have sorted a laurel for my daily car so hope to get a few things done to the sohc setup in the meantime.
  9. That Datsun wags is sooooo sweet. Definitely something I would love to daily.
  10. Got this sweet gem a wof and rego. Needed lh tierod end and battery clamp to pass. also I have been collecting new 2" exhaust pipe and a coby and extractors. Also got 32/36 webber carb thanks to Bigfoot. Haven't yet fitted as I want a spare daily car while I do this to lancer.
  11. i think they 19p offset? not 100% sure. i want to sell on car as whole unless i get other wheels to sell it on may consider sellin seperate
  12. anybody have a kelford cam or something similar to suit a 2lire sigma motor?
  13. oooh yes mr padget forgot you had that video haha, 1.6 auto gettin down
  14. this basically explains why my username is rb drifter, my skid/drift hack 89 cefiro rb20det motor rb20det gearbox lsd diff chipped ecu walbro pump kkr430 turbo front mount intercooler alloy radiator wastegate with screamer pipe 3" staright thru exhaust no mufflers 5stud allround bc gold adjusties 17x9 wheels matt black paint. stripped interior. this car gets down to business, reason why i have it. hasnt been on dyno but would do decent figures for a rb20det.
  15. very dope car, correct me if im wrong but did you sell your old cresta to tombz? if its same car i park next to it every soo often and end up staring at it for way too long
  16. discuss your little hearts out.... build thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39422-rb-drifters-82-ex-lancer/
  17. discuss here //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39423-rb-drifters-82-ex-lancer/ ive finally decided to add build thread for this lil gem 6 months after purchasing it.... so the story begins when i bought this roughly 6 months ago from kaitaia off a 18 year old going to uni and needed funds, he got off an elderly lady that barely drove it local in kaitaia. it was fully standard, 1.6 auto. no wof, rego on hold so straight away i removed the 1.6 auto with intentions of putting a 12a bridgeport in it, i lowered rear using new mirage shocks and cut 626 superlow kingsprings, sits on bumps and captive as. put my 14x6.5 dunlop te on it with two brand new 185/55r14 hankook tyres and two same size hankooks off my hearts. i used this size tyres to keep wheel diameter same as standard. i then got a bosskit and wood wheel off my mate, replaced the smashed passenger window it came with new one, changed fuel cap to one i had off my very first sigma. some people may think it looks stupid but it means something to me and my mates. has a long story behind it. then this is the breakthrough when i woke up and relised gap this rotary business and get a 4g63 motor. so 4g63s aint cheap but i set upon finding a whole car cause i needed few other bits too. this is when i found out my old sigma wagon was up for sale cause it was pink stickered, i pestered the people selling it for about two-three weeks before i got it for what i wanted to pay. i used the starion front suspension out of it for lancer as it had good brakes and superlow e30 bmw springs that were cut. un fortunately the driveshaft was too long and gearbox shifter hit the tunnel in lancer. so thanks to damien i got a ex lancer driveshaft. i got a l200 box and removed rear housing to swap shifter shafts over onto my sigma box. also had to make adaptor plate for gearbox crossmember to bolt to gearbox. so now it runs thanks to dave giving me a hand with engine swap. it is low, slow and looks super sweet. im not finshed with it yet as i still want to do alot more to it once money alows. my bigger dreams are for me to know and you guys to find out once i do them next on list is a wof and rego. my personal wof list so far -fix exhaust leak -fix window squirters -brakes need attention as get stuck on sometimes. - shave bumpstops to give more travel and pics.... old engine 1.6litre new engine 2.0 litre
  18. update time, progess is happening on this.... so after going on a trip to napier and getting all spare parts for crown off mr seedy al i searched through parts and found, brand new inner tie rod ends and good condition balljoints. also theres all origanil bumpstops and springs shocks etc. so today replaced lh inner tie rod and lh lower balljoint, next thing to do is put standard bumpstops and sway bar in for wof spec. cert can wait i just want pink sticker gone for now and it legal for nats watch this space...... chur
  19. yes 14s are super sweet man, and hubbies are so gangs, i rekon even 12slot falcoon wheels will look sweet on a crown.
  20. for front i used, starion shocks/brakes with e30 bmw superlows minus one coil. was off bumps and rode soo nice, was under 100mm on small wheels though. for rear i just cut springs cause i had plenty of spares.
  21. sooo far, put exhaust and intake manifold on, put thermostat housing on with new gaskets i made, built a distributor out of two that were fully stripped, put headlights, new grill and parklights in. also got some 15x8 0 offset wheels off a mate, theyre cheap knock offs but theyll end up getting curbed up if my mrs is driving so algood. also straitend front bumper brackets and put it on. picture dump.
  22. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35974-rb-drifters-ke70-wagon/ discuss away here....
  23. cheers man yeah i was wondering if the round lights were off a carina wagon. ive got a rear bumper and few spare panels just havent bothered to put them on yet.
  24. got a ke70 wagon for cheap as its in parts, needs a decent paint and put motor together etc. fairly rust free from what ive seen just a few hori repair jobs need tidying up doing this up for my mrs to buy off me once she sells her car so she will also be involved in the work fairly standard just 4k with extractors, lowering blocks, lowering springs. spray can paint job, blacked out interior. wiring around motor was mess, so stripped it all out and put in another loom. much better now. pics will be up soon
  25. if you wired wrong the electronic points gap part can get buggered, had problem with my l200 van when swapping motor and wired in wrong took me a while to realise what was going on.
