  1. It looks good in the photos but is a bit rough in parts as can be expected It's riding a lot better now with the shorter springs in front, I'll drive it how it is for a while then look at dropping it a bit more and getting some new (shorter) shocks
  2. Haven't done much lately but have been busy the last couple of days since installing some nice new lighting in my garage. I replaced the locks as the passenger side one was bung, sourced a replacement interior light and drivers side vent and replaced some seam sealer in the cab. I took the towbar off too as I don't really need it or the ability to carry out ram raids. I decided to remove the plastic trim on the sides as it was peeling off and just generally looking shite, I never really liked how it looked with the tie-down rails on the wellside anyhow. After that I gave it a cut and polish which came up pretty good and finally issued a bit of slam. Much better than the two 100w bulbs that were there previously, now I can actually find the stuff that I drop Springs out for re-education and blocks to go in back Also picked up this old radio, it's the same type as my old man used to have in his work van for taking to construction sites back in the day. I might make a carrier for it in the cab and put some hooks in the wellside to hang it off for radio/cassette stz when doing ute stuff
  3. Could I grab a couple black OS stickers off the relevant peeps tomorrow night Will bring coin/shout beers etc
  4. Been looking at these myself Here's the dimensions relative to part numbers for kyb http://www.kyb.com/technical/documents/ShockDimensionsSecured.pdf and monroe http://www.monroe.com/assets/downloads/english/08_MountingLengthSheet.pdf
  5. I was looking at those blackrocks for my b1600 just the other day, they look sweet in black. How much do they go for per rim?
  6. Looks sweet. You gonna get a Biltwell helmet? I'd love one of these ones http://elboneshaker.co.nz/2010/09/biltwell-lids-art/
  7. There's a vid on YouTube of a Gen1 in NZ with one in it
  8. Yeah, should be there. May be on two wheels but still oldschool.
  9. I can help out if you want, I live in Ngaio so not far away from either. Should have checked this earlier, I was just watching telly this evening
  10. Mazda B series 79-84 twin headlights will fit I have been told. You will also need the corresponding bonnet to go with them
  11. I used POR15 recently to paint the chassis under my wellside, did the whole system, marine clean, metal ready then POR15. I wire brushed it to get the old paint off the roughed up with some sandpaper to provide a good surface for the paint. Did 2 coats and used about 300ml of paint all up
  12. I'd be keen to come along, I should have everything back together again by then and would be good to meet some fellow oldschoolers.
  13. From the listing 15x10 G MAX 6 STUD TRIDEN NEW Starting Price $1,495.00 No reserve 15" CLASSIC TRIDEN Style Rims, 15x10 NEGATIVE 52 offset 6X139 PCD stud pattern comes with centre caps
  14. lol at the DADDYO sticker on the parts ute Some good potential in there
  15. Picked up fuel tank, no more wasted gas yay Also picked up a higher output alternator for when the stereo goes in Finally got the rear part of the chassis painted I wasn't 100% with how the wheels looked when I got it but still wanted to keep it oldschool and keep the hubcaps. Found some wheel trims online and bombed the rims matte black and was quite pleased with the outcome.
  16. +1 A guy I know has one in his L200, it's great fun to drive, maybe the same one? Radman, the ute looks sweet, what's the interior like?
  17. Nice Brumby you have there Had a feeling of dejavu reading this. I took my rad into the same place, before I had even said anything he quoted what vehicle it was from.
  18. Found the original toolbag under the seat, still in good nick. Pulled the wellside off today to clean and paint the chassis Fuel tank should be repaired in the next day or so, have also pulled the rad out as there was a small leak that needs attention.
  19. I think it was used as a work vehicle so it's got some wear and tear but hasn't been mucked about with. Paint is original, I think the colour is Clair Orange, code OC
  20. Discovered a leak in the fuel tank, looked to be coming from the seam so whipped it off. Dirt had piled up on the seam behind the mounting points and started to rust the tank, only one hole so far, will take it to a radiator shop once things get going after the break. Also picked up a couple no name 6" subwoofers for dirt cheap so started looking at where I could install them. Behind the seat was the best option, so took a few measurements to find out the space available, then knocked up a cardboard version and luckily enough it fits perfectly. One will go on each side. Removed the kick panels so I could make a template for some new ones
  21. Sweet, good info there. I'll start with 50mm front and rear then see how I feel later on
  22. Do you know of any sites or should I just keep an eye on eBay
  23. Cheers It's also still rocking the AM mono Clarion radio too. If anyone has a line on a decent drivers side guard I'd be keen
