  1. Nice work on the rear end, it will provide peace of mind when velocitating at haste. Love old singles, this should be pretty sweet when you're done
  2. Weird, used PM button but it made a post??? oh wells same effect I guess
  3. Hey man, I might be able to make it, what's your addy? I'll flick you a text when I know
  4. Sweet pics bro Man you hit that ramp like Evel Knievel on your way out
  5. I'm free Tuesday afternoon and will be about town so could pick up and store till someone heads up the line
  6. KK, could you bring along a couple stickers for me if poss? One black and one white would be sweet, muchas gracias
  7. Yup, corner of Kaikoura and Akaroa, friend lived in the flats there Just remembered that is also where I watched Summer Slam '89
  8. +1 on the rims Childhood flashback, I'm pretty sure it was that carpark up behind your car that me and my mates used to fly plastic bag kites from back in the day
  9. Finished off my seat now, I ended up covering it in vinyl. It was a bit of a pain as I had to use glue to secure the vinyl but managed to get it to an acceptable level. I also replaced the rear brake lever, removed the centre-stand and bodged up the exhaust a bit better
  10. Had some starter motor lulz this week. Cold was fine but once warmed up, it would disengage before the engine fired up. I needed to pick up a mower from Kapiti and didn't have time to check the starter beforehand so I just left the engine running whenever I had to get out, using my spare key to unlock the door. I'm sure some Kapiti flat peakers thought it had a turbo timer in it. Anyhoo it's all sorted now, this is what I got. oldschool lawnmowing service?
  11. Once you get the hang of it it'll look mean chopping gears
  12. 3-4 is sweet I'll be home pretty much all day so no issues. Close on the name, Jeremy, I should stick it somewhere in my profile
  13. Cheers for the help guys. I think it has been this way for a long time as it now sits loose around the seat which I assume it used to have the interference fit on. Just want to stop the noise it makes so I'll get the dremel on to it tomorrow. Can't wait to take it for a drive without that thing banging around.
  14. I can help, is it on its way to a new home?
  15. Yeah that's what I was thinking. A bit more investigation and it looks like it should secure to the sliding yoke instead. There are a couple of rough patches on the yoke where it feels like something has sheared off, possibly locating pins for the slots in the end of the shield?? Maybe a few tacks evenly around it?
  16. I've used them before, easy to deal with and did a good job. Not sure how competitive their prices are as I haven't been anywhere else
  17. So I found the cause of an annoying rattle I had been looking for and it is this thing The workshop manual I have makes no mention of it but it is present in the diagrams. I can't see any obvious way that it is supposed to securely locate around the end of the gearbox, if there was any kind of sleeve it pushed onto it's long gone. I need to sort it out as it makes heaps of fucking noise, should I fix it (if so, how?) or just cut the fucker off?
  18. Looking good man, gray and black paint looks choice and I'm digging the tacked up cover. Wish I had some fab skills, I'm only good at cutting shit
  19. Fuck yeah! Nice tidy work there, seat looks good What's the cock lever for?
  20. I spaced out the front wheels by 10mm to simulate an offset of +28mm, on full lock the rims now clear the upper control arm and sway bar mount by 5mm (at full extension of suspension). Is this enough clearance? Are there any other factors I should consider? A few extra millimetres could probably be gained on top of the 10 but was just being conservative. Had a quick measure up at the back. With +38mm offset (142mm to rear rim edge) and no guard rolling, the outside face of a 9" wheel would stick out about 1/2 an inch from the guard. I may have to pass up your offer though Jase, even though the wheels are similar I think my OCD side may keep nagging away at me about the slight differences between them, sorry dude.
  21. That looks wicked, I see you are going for the foam pad seat too, I just made a fibreglass pan today to stick some 20mm closed cell foam to. I was just going to stick it straight on to the tank but have never used glass before so thought I'd give it a go It'll use the original seat hinge and flip up to access the fuel cap
  22. Fuck that looks good, nice work. Most frame braces I have seen look crap but yours suits it nicely and it also increases fuel capacity
  23. I cut the rear fender off today and removed the light/plate mount from it for possible reuse I tried a new method for rust, this is after 5 mins! Peroxide and salt FTW Definitely need some brown paint on the covers, the rust is still wet so will get lighter as it dries too. Tail lights are a pain in the arse and ruin nice lines but if I trim up the plate mount area and mount it like this then it might be okay.
  24. Sweet, cheers man. I'll measure up the space in back, would be sweet to get 10's in
  25. Cheers man, seeing yours kickstarted (excuse the pun) me into getting one. Love the suicide shifter and the mini t-bar handlebars setup you have. These little bikes can look pretty tough with little effort, mines got a hook behind the legshield which looks perfect for carrying a length of chain for when run-ins with other riders/drivers occur
