  3. It's hard to say with out looking at it. I'd try removing a wire at a time from coil negative and see which one stopped the motor.
  4. Yeah I'm sure it can. Do you have one ignition coil? If you do you need to find the switched wire from the ignitor, run it through the inductive pick up on your tach and back to the coil neg.
  5. For your Anglia? Austin Princess callipers and Mk3 Capri discs? I had these on an Escort years ago and they fitted behind 13" wheels.

  8. I'm pretty sure an Escort box won't fit your Cortina mount, you'll need a custom mount and technicaly a cert too. Clutch wise it's 50/50. Your Cortina was designed for hydraulic though so swapping bits off another one is easier/
  9. Be carefull also, Escort boxes are cable clutch, Mk2 Cortina is hydraulic. I think Escort boxes sit on a different rear mount too. Can you find a manual Mk2 Cortina wreck and take everything you need from that? It would be easier than mix and matching parts. Don't worry to much about hydraulic lines it's easy to make something up.
  10. You could make a remote shifter up Or....... Fit some bucket seats while you're at it. You'll need a cert for your 5 speed so get the seats done at the same time.

  14. It won't pass. It's a car, you must be able to see through the rear window. If you put perspex in it won't meet safety standards for glass. If it was a SUV or a van then it should pass on that item.
  15. The best bet is to swap a whole front end. Subframe, rack, struts etc. Otherwise it can be messy. Escort has a front rack.
  16. The shock body is 40mm shorter the total strut ends up about 80 mm shorter. My struts are 570mm long from the strut top of the strut tower to the underside of the bottom balljoint ear.
  17. Hi Dan. They weren't overly expensive, I can't remember though. I had to cut and weld the strut tubes, turn the ends of the strut down to fit the Anglia top, and make up a spacer to help them stay neatly in the strut tube. It makes for a very short strut, almost to short. I have about 20 mm of droop which could be better.
  18. Just bleed it like normal. Back flushing it just forces all the shit back up into the cylinder. Just don't pump the pedal very far down and you will be fine.

    The way I heard it was that a truly big ported motor idles so fast that the mechanical advance would be all in anyway. So they lock the mechanical avance.
