  1. I assume there are basic rules like no passing on corners? let faster people go past easy on straights etc..? im keen but wont be pushing the car too hard and really don't want more dents to fix
  2. i bought 1m of 2.5" pipe from magoo for $16. they were all good there
  3. Very keen on this, what constitutes a legal helmet? and if any help is needed im more than happy to do what i can.
  4. i have no problem with giving the area a quick tidy, as far as i can see the kaikoura council have been good about the whole track area and if we use it we should look after it.
  5. as long as we dont leave rubbish there (like we would anyway) i dont see anyone having a problem. that article was about how the place was left, not the use of the track, Sadly i wont be able to bring out my corona but might show up with my brother in his shamefull 82 corona, il just hide my face so noone sees me in its bright yellow shame
  6. I could be keen for this but my corona is SO slow :/ or i could fix the mr2s clutch and bring that but thats not likely to happen
  7. Where did you get your front splitter? Want =D
  8. Damn, thats a story and a half. any photos? would love to see what caused a couple days hard work for me to repair am i right in guessing a hill climber crashed, a subi and the corona were parked on the side of the road and got in the way?
  9. that would be the same douche who want to put a rotory in it. at least it was rescued by the guy i bought it from and had the 18r and an open diff put back in. sooo about this dent... do tell.... im very curious now
  10. Also, whats this story to do with the dent behind the door? im extremely curious. Aswell as, was your mate the one who killed the original engine, any story behind that? and if he was the one who i hear planed to put a rotary in it give him a little slap round the head from me ;P rotary... i dont know.. what a waste of a corona.
  11. Holy crap! thats amazing. defiantly mine. when i bought it it had 14" celica rims and was missing that grill badge. sourced a new badge and acualy has similar 5 spokes on again Did you own it? who ever had it before me messed it up a little but its getting a full restoration as im sure youl be happy to hear if you owned it
  12. , gonna repaint it eventually soon anyway
  13. Really?? wow.. i was always told that if it was a factory option it didn't need a cert. hmmmmm. owell no reason why it wouldn't pass though, 18r isnt really more power full than the 6r anyway
  14. the only way i can think of legitimately hurting your self with a spanner, is a rusty bolt and your fist facing the block of the engine. anyone whos worked on a car should get the picture.... knuckle skin, what knuckle skin? and yea rules are rules. same with its fully legal to have one flashing headlight. theres always going to be stupid rules
  15. Perhaps i should clarify, i don't necessarily disagree with the issues brought to the surface. its a 1971 rt84 Corona. Original engine was a 6r, but it now has an 18r, which as far as i know was a factory option and does not require cert. the engine difference was not mentioned at this wof so i guess thats ok. it used to be a 4speed w40, its now a 5 speed w50. i didnt do any of the swaps, but as far as i can guess the w40 gearbox mount is dfferent to the w50. and i was told the xmember was cut and reinforced to fit the 5 speed. from what i can gather this does need a cert. yes? my seatbelt is frayed a bit. so if i need to il replace that. as for the bolts and the cable securing. that wil take 10 minutes to fix and not an issue. then i have no idea what weld i need to get checked. i got pointed out a weld on the front underneath the radiator area. and it looked a little messy but it almost looked factory and untouched, so maybe he was just used to late model cars.? and as for the fog lights on my old car. yea its the law but its a bit of a stupid one im my opinion. they wouldnt even lend me a spanner to save me the time and gas of going home and comeing back
  16. unfortunately, being a poor student, i may actually have to consider getting a dodgy wof while i gather the money to get the cert and make everything legit as much as i dont want to sink to that kind of level, i need to get to work and such... i dont know :/ i dont think il ever be going back to that garage. they also failed my familia when i had it, for having extra fog lights that i bolted on but didnt hook up yet.... i know its technically illegal, but its not a hazard at all. unbolted them and passed
  17. actually.. on second look. that scribble at the end does look like an 'tion'. so it could be that he missed the 'pen' and it says Sustion. guess il have to find a way of going to see him, though he just made my only car illegal. and knowing my luck il get pulled over if i drive it.
  18. 500... this wof guy is the most retarded person ive met then. he told me 60. and yea i though maybe it said suspension, but its only got 5 letters and it dosn't even look like an abbreviation of it. besides. it says i need to check something. it that get it checked by a professional? or get it re certified?
  19. oh and that other thing that needed cert was aparently 2" lowering blocks, Idiot
  20. oh that says SECURE, i knew it was a good idea to put this up. and hmmmm i need a new dancing seagull that can weld. this is gona cost me a lot isnt it?
  21. So today i took my car for its first WOF since ive had it, and found out that i need a cert for the gearbox mount (i didn't know it had been modified, but it looks good and should pass), does anyone know how much this will cost? How ever there are a number of other issues with the car. but the inspector has the worst hand writing i have ever seen. and i cant read what i need to fix. so i thought id put up a photo of it and see if anyone here might be able to read it. I have decoded the first 3 points but i have no idea what the last 2 say towards each of their ends. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  22. almost every problem ive ever had with car audio is due to a poor earth. possibly the case here too.
  23. i dont have a club k account, but there must be someone here with one, and that is known by them.
  24. did anyone ever get this posted up on club k? are there any other car clubs that could be invited?
  25. ahh yea, well 18rgeu seems to be the way to go, then i keep thinking about what if i put a 4age. what kind work would be required to fit one?
