  1. This =P its around the corner from my place
  2. wow.. that sounds intense. any possibility for an audio clip or video of what that thing sounds like getting close to 9k rpm?
  3. Probably keen, depending on what happens with work.
  4. Dirt as in the speedway, or do they have a grasskhana area too?
  5. ^ made of aluminium I believe Jeremy Clarkson test drove a Russian car and proclaimed the breaks stop like they are made of cheese
  6. ive had 2 cars stolen from me, both turned up around the foot hills ditched.
  7. il Photoshop it when i find the motivation but im leaning towards just repainting the original colour. and yea 50 a wheel is great.
  8. outside rim/band/perimeter/whatever use your imagination
  9. Oh man, that damage sucks.. i did the exact same thing in my old MR2.. snapped a 3 day old wheel clean in half however your damage looks far worse.. i guess thats what happens when theres no engine to push back when the curb gets in the way. either way thats one of the nicest jzx100s ive seen, its so clean and makes me wish i was richer btw. you wouldn't happen to sell the garage slipway decals to non members? i love the whole Japanese style indie drift team thing.
  10. Haha yes i did expect to have to remove the tires but it hadn't been asked before so i thought why not ask Im getting 2 sets of 3 rims (same style) so i'll need to mix and match the best rims so tires are coming off anyway. just after personal opinion i have a set of Advanti Racingstar (i think, see avatar anyway) and they are quite a modern rim but i think they suit my car very well, im wondering what it would look like if i got the lip polished and the spokes painted the same dark bronzy colour? and would Elite be able to do this.
  11. How much does Acid dipping a set of wheels cost? or if its done on a per wheel base, how much per wheel. And 99% a stupid question that i think i know the answer to already, but just in case. Do the tires need to be removed
  12. Sounds like my next rainy day project =D, ever had the guts to try flat shift with your limter? if anyone else is interested i could do a build thread in the other projects for one of these.
  13. that rpm limiter is the same theory that i had a while ago, just scared to try it cause i didn't know much about what the effects could be, how much do you reckon it would cost to throw one together? trying to decided if i should have a go, ive got a couple PICAXEs laying around. any reason why they shouldn't be used? im also thinking.. could the same circuit be used to create a kill switch to make it harder to steal?
  14. nice car, feel like sharing the theory on that launch control? i too like useful things that never get used or rather i just like homemade electronics
  15. i wonder why exactly that kombi needed 911 suspension....
  16. Are you saying that fr and ff cars have stiffer rear springs than the front? If you are, that is not correct. think he means diameter yup yup, front engine cars have the skinny springs in the front, rear/mid engine cars have the skinny ones in the back
  17. Acualy thats quite a good point, yes i imagine that it would dramatically increase the stress on the bolt that way, i guess il just trim the spring a little. its got kyb shocks. im not sure if they are shorter or not but il get the measuring tape out. Another idea i have had. is ive got the factory rear springs from my sw20 mr2. they look to be the same diameter but should be way stiffer. might look at trimming those to the height i want so it will be stiffer and less likely to guard rub. btw. mr2s spring style is swapped around due to MR config (skinny spring at back, fat at front)
  18. Its got shorter springs, and i plan on reseting the leaves in the back, All i wanted to do was lower the front slightly more, the strut bolts UNDER the wishbone so it will definatly lower the car. i don't really care if it seems 'retarded' to you, aslong as its safe. since if you think about it. its essentialy the same as lowering blocks in the rear. it just re positions the wheel in relation to the spring. Now that was a serious question. is it a safety hazard? i cant take pics if needed
  19. please please upload a video once the engine setup is running
  20. that British setup looks scary haha and yup its got 2" lowering blocks in the rear, and its lowered about 2.5" in the front as well with shorter springs i think (guy before me did it) its all captive and handles really nicely, but i want to lower the rear by about 2.5-3" more and the front by about about 0.5". i was looking at how the front suspension is set up and i noticed how the strut is bolted to the lower wishbone. is there any reason why a getting a couple nice strong longer bolts and putting .5" worth of washers between the struts bracket and the wishbone should not be done?
  21. the above sounds fair, and would be one of the best things i have ever seen +1
  22. ahh yes i see. i have coils and shocks + double wishbones. definatly nothing going back to the chassis rail. so no torsions bars. thanks for all your help
  23. So i have just found out about a part called the Torsion Bar in the suspension and apparently they are height adjustable. From what i can tell its used in suspension designs that have two wishbones. My corona (rt84 1971) has this style in the front but i cannot locate a torsion bar ive looked all over the internet but cannot find all that much information on this subject. My question. Do i have a torsion bar and if i do where on earth does it hide? Thanks p.s. i did a search on OS but if i missed a thread where this has been answered could you please link me?
  24. at this stage i may be 50/50 on coming i really wana make an appearance. and if i can get a hold of my mate. we may show up in his 190e. not old school by numbers, but its got the look sorta..
