  1. dunno if this works but here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151973027480957
  2. kinda have to get some other wheels made to fit as whats on offer in the 13inch range isnt that great. 15 inch range however would be better for availability something like some 19555's should be good as i cant run stretch tyres with this setup in the legal sense. Will always have the 8 inch wide 13's though cos they are slick but not yet *cough cough... looking at 15x8 and we'd be legal.
  3. no wheels yet, need to sell one of the dailys to buy some 15's then get them re-drilled to 4" x 4" and then skids...
  4. Coil pack replaced with a newer better mitsi coil pack and resistors for injectors wired in, and yes folks we have running motor. Found there was an earth wire from the engine to shell which was getting warm when i was cranking so need to find a suitably larger earth to the shell... Pretty quiet too when idle. Stoked as. Choice.
  5. Hey y'all running wasted spark but one of the coils seems dickered (crack down the side of it, has dropped on the ground and shit oops), can i set it up to run individual coils if the 1+4 and 2+3 get the same feeds/pulses or is there more to it then that? What would PIckeys have that i could pilfer for this? particular makes models suitable? Setup is g1 link with link ignitor running wasted spark on my 16v 4age, (running 4agze CAS) Cheers rob
  6. speedy work as always you guys... last time i checked it was only a steel frame... now this.
  7. yeah if they dont have them they can make them, or so what ive been told by the autolign fellows bout 70 a pop, surely theres a GC out there who can find a match based on similar dimensions...
  8. how much you want for the bottom end / gearbox?
  9. I got a mitsi galant revinned in palmerston north once, near the bridge as you drive in from bulls way, they pinged me for the windscreen having too many stone chips in it, but i did manage to get the thing legal and drove it home with new plates. They were old jokers and did it first thing in the morning, maybe better chance (if they haven't had a shit day) to do it as early as possible? gotta sit back and leave them to it. unsure about the gbox tho, id play dumb about it. any pics of the patch work?
  10. nice build and good to see you going down the 6 speed route. I like changing gears and 6 is awesome maybe il go for that when the t50 i got decides its time. How do they fair strength wise when compared to the w series?
  11. have added relays for the coil packs and the injectors and have found that my old battery isnt holding enough to crank and goes below 7v and the spark dies off. Also went and saw Stu and found out the injectors im running need a different setup so ive ordered some new ballasts and should get them wired in this weekend. Battery on the shopping list too. Ooh-sah
  12. the wedding/honeymoon is over and done with and garage time is well induced rite now... went out and tidied the wiring up and made power go to switches and things. One power trace to see if the coils had voltage going to them and then i decided to give her a crank, so we have spark... will see exactly where its sparking when i get my timing light back and then hook up the fuel pump to the relay. BUt yeah quite stoked its got spark and that the fancy push button starter thingy works too...
  13. what a beast, this is fully sweet man...
  14. drag/push up the hill with a bully? CAT D10 ftw, any decent trees to winch off up the top? / i duno
  15. Another viva update innit So between doing the landscaping out the back, working on the 3 daily drivers and this fine specimen of rusty steel i can say i havent given it much love in the last month or so. Oh yeh and doing my bit for organising the wedding stuff in feb. BIg news was the exhaust is finished... all of it, mounted and everything got a muffler from STA and reused an old nissan muffler. This just means i can start the car up and have it tolerable, not thats its ready to start yet.... I can say tho that all them little jobs that are awaiting me are slowly getting sorted... Massive gains had in the engine bay with the heater now bolted in meaning the water system is all done. Fuel system got a flush and the amount of crap that came out of the fuel lines from just siting there was appalling. So attached all of that now to the fuel rail and fitted the filter aswell. So here is a new cluster i made, its the mark 1 version, pretty much just holding the stuff in place so i can attach wires without it getting shit all over it, pretty lights are cool, and the link is now in place.... And we now have a semi organised area. Ive got to the stage where the wiring is ready to roll... Going to use the old cluster to house the wiring. Pretty much its simple and i can use the old fuses (4 circuits BATT, IGN, ACC and LIGHTS) Got a dip switch to install for down by the footwell and also add some relays for the headlights, fan, fuel pump and something else. So yeah lets get this done this year ... and get to driving it around FFSakes
  16. yep your right no.4 is on the rock, got them mixed up
  17. If you know where TDC is on the motor (screw driver down cylinder 1 plug hole) maybe take the rocker cover off to see what the valves are doing. number 3 4 cylinder should be on the rock between the exhaust valve coming up and the inlet valve going down. no 1 should be doing nothing cos thats the compression stroke and the spark should happen then. with the dizzy in the correct guessed place... and the dizzy cap off... the rotor on the dizzy and the no.1 plug spot on the cap should match up once the cap is put back in place.... this is only if you dont have any marks to go off. This is how i do it and not necessarily the correct way but yeh...if it aint in the right place move it a notch either back or forward and then try it... dial it in with a timing light too... oh and silly question... it has got a spark yeh?
  18. As you probably been already told, the K50 box wont handle much of a hiding from the 4age, maybe to save time look around for a t50, yes they are over priced and rare to find but in comparison to a k50 they will handle more jandle. Also getting a bell housing made up for a W series box is the other option... Depending on what its going in anyways. When i got my 4age i was looking for k50 boxes becos im a cheap arse and wanted to just get rolling. Took some advise from some of the dudes on here and got a gbox and bellhousing combo for 680 which was kinda like saying the bellhousing was 5 hundred and the gearbox 180, (22 spline T50). If you go for a W series and get a W to A housing made up your looking at a bit more like a grand... anyways just my 2c
  19. Loving your work in this build, my mates got 4g63t in his old LB lancer and even stock standard its just so awesome to drive, this is bound going to put a massive grin on your face, and your throwing a link at it so this will be even more silly/awesome once its dyno'd. just out of curiosity the old front hub arms of the mx5 do you still have them around? Would you mind to measure them height-wise please.... just wanted to see if they could work with an idea i have for the viva.
  20. Getting things added to the engine, need to sort out fuel from the back and the exhaust still to be finished before i attempt to fire it up Does anyone know how the extra injector on the inlet manifold works, does it pulse intermittently or stay on for a few seconds during its usage. Just curios as it would be cool to have it able to be activated at a certain time, as the link may be able to send a pulse to it using the rpm switch, but still figuring that one out... it may be redundant as the main injectors can be set up however you choose and could just add more gas during start up... ? did i just answer that myself?
  21. Good progress alex, are the bushes on the axle side of the mounting still ok, i didn't manage to find any of those yet. Stink to hear about the shaft being wonky as that cant be helping the uj's.
  22. na, are you near a picka part? old late 80's manual fwd rollas will have them... i got one in my shed for the viva - toyota box... but i know they just screw in... maybe ring up a 'local dealership' to get the parts number...
  23. Not sure if this helps but fwd corollas have a peice that is about 400mm long that screws the older end into the top and the other has the newer round-bit-with-the-keyway... anyways its the bit on the left in the pic
  24. intercooler in place, radiator in... getting to a point i can fire it up soon just need juice up to the front now... wher'd my battery go...
