  1. here is something to help you along tho. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Books/Nonficti ... 748943.htm Maybe find a maori carving...split it down the middle with a chainsaw and hey presto a NZ themed figurehead. edit: Something like this....altho maybe not $500 worth!
  2. PERFECT!!!! Im sure the mrs would LOVE to drive around with one of those on either side of the cab.
  3. make ur struts look like the carvings on old tall ships... like this sorta thing. Sure would be a talking point.
  4. I've got a strommie inplace of the old SU. Still needs to be rejetted and generally serviced but that will be done soon enuf.
  5. some upturned boso style ones could quite nicely double as either a; an umbrella holder or b; beer holders for the cook.
  6. Just trying to fit my filter is being a prick! Turns out i either need to cut and bend the firewall or make a new adapter. And all of this is even harder with only one hand at the mo. (stupid angle grinder mishaps!)
  7. yeah man...I gots a ramflo goin on the wifes mini...probably could find/make/shit out a better filter but its a ramflo...a mini isnt a mini without one.
  8. Lovin it dude... so straight and original. Lovin how they jacked it up on the drums...Im so doing that with mine.
  9. call him Milton. Or to go along with an oldschool theme...Morris.
  10. ^^ Do that, it'll be like a British Burgerking on wheels. Table top old surfboard, a real small one... Or a snowboard...smaller = easier.
  11. Im loving this thing so much im thinking i may need to make one for the mini out of a mini!
  12. the bronze ones made me get a tingle in my nether regions but the white ones gave me a raging boner!!!!
  13. nice work on the headers bro. Have you thought about that shit that you paint onto the exhaust wrap? Supposedly it takes even more heat out of the engine bay. Never used it myself but I have heard good things about it.
  14. Have to a coupla mates who run track hacks and they all recommend... motul rb600 So yeah...what he said
  15. I've always heard good things about ELF brake fluids. What kinds/grades etc i dont know but i shall find out for you.
  16. Agreed but they look way small...which 10" rims are. In black tho they dont look so small so seem to fill the guards better...but again as said above...Thats just my opinion. Still looks wicked either way.
  17. Rusty checker plate foot plates. That would look badass! Generally awesome tho!
  18. I remember seeing an rx5 all wicked up in fast fours and rotaries back in the day...like in 1994. Thought they were ugly as sin. HOWEVER!!!! Havent seen one in years! And am loving this one! Infact I would happily own this one! Good score bro and keep us up to date on its progress or non progress!
  19. here are the belts all mounted n stuff. Just need to weld the retaining nuts in place. I even managed to find a set of belts with the factory covers...just like my dads old Austin Allegro had when I was a kid! I over engineered the mounting so it shouldnt have any probs come cert time. Its just a retaining nut through the sheet steel from factory so I figured this would be a safer option for anyone who was unfortunate enough to be riding in the back seats. Also it looks just a wee bit different from the average mini...which is what I was aiming for. That is all!
  20. went to the manliest place on earth today...aka pick a part...and got some Jaguar xj6 rear seatbelts. Am replacing the static fixed rear belts for retractable ones...make things a bit tidier. Will get pics up when they are all mounted n stuff. That is all!
  21. so I've been super lazy when it comes to the mini lately but this weekend between swims was a goodie! Made a new rear parcel shelf from some sheet steel yesterday. the shitty old rusted cut to shit one! from this... to this... ...and today took off the skin of the passenger door... I tell ya its not too pretty inside them doors thats for sure, but it could've been a whole lot worse! So tomorrow i will try to weld in some new metal to replace the rusted mess i cut out of the frame. Its all a learning curve i tells ya but it was gonna cost me $1200 for a panelbeater to do the doors and i just dont wanna pay that!...(I guess thats the penny pinching Scotsman coming out in me). And incase I didnt show Y'all earlier this is the zorst thats gonna go on the mini...a good old RC40 mini box with my home made tip...all attached to a straight pipe of course! Also did some welding on a guys stepdaughters car yesterday...turns out he is an autosparky. So now hes gonna rewire the mini for me and sort out the earthing probs...sweet...more money i dont have to spend...YAY ME! That is all!
