  1. Yes all of the Dual Sprint Series is done on Track 2. They are holding a Clubmans Series on the Sunday of every Dual Sprints Weekend and they use Track 1 for 2 of the rounds of that...
  2. Mark and I are doing the Taupo Winter Series. Finally got my 156 legal and ready. My apologies to you guys it was my input that ceased the Tarmac Series but we have zero volunteers and huge financial risk for a series that had very little participation. Hopefully we can revive it next year. All round are on Saturdays and each Sunday after the Dual Sprints is a round of the "Winter series Clubmans racing" Round 1: June 21st Round 2: July 19th Round 3: August 16th Round 4: September 20th
  3. Not to be a Vulture or anything. But if you don't have a use for the 4M drop me a PM, we have a couple of Crowns needing engines and a parts engine would be a massive help.
  4. Ha sweet Mitsi vortex Airflow meter, that's yuck. You Pod Filter is more yuck. Aftermarket ECU is the best way to change your configuration and actually net some results. Otherwise I'd just be returning it to original. Manufacturers know best.
  5. Huh??? No no no no. If you are talking about an old vane type airflow meter, big flap that moves a rheostat measuring airflow, there is nothing wrong with them. You're not going to be able to just replace it with a different kind of airflow meter. They are not heavily air restrictive, you wouldn't notice a change if you could find a compatible replacement. It's not a switch either. It's not even a sensor really. It's a metering device converting mechanical movement into voltage change.
  6. Have you moved the mounting position of the coils yet? Where they are mounted is too hot for them.
  7. What brand is it? Most Lead Acid batteries are 'Maintainence Free' (sealed). Most of the batteries that still have fill caps are either big commercial batteries or cheap branded batteries. If it's in the cheap brand batteries category it's very likely faulty.
  8. Yeah they are very expensive engines to rebuild. Having a spare engine regardless will be a weight off your mind. Should make a significant improvement in that regard. I look forward to seeing this with a lower COG.
  9. Yeah probably, I ended up deciding against it for the time being, bank account is very angry at me. Is your 1750 all ready to go straight in the hole?? You'll miss the Redline of the 1300 when you change.
  10. It's on the edge. Park in the Hipster section.
  11. Anyone else planning on going?? Yowzer and I are definitely going at this stage.
  12. So the tally is now @ 180 Miles. Everything seems to be going well. Small exhaust leak and small coolant leak from weird Block Drain Tap, so I shall tidy those up. I've spent the last couple of days tidying a few little bits and pieces that have been driving me crazy since getting the car running originally. Noisey Brakes. My god they were the worst brakes I've ever heard. A new set of Bendix pads with some CPlus Backing Shims did the trick, much better stopping performance as well. The Fuel Gauge was the most inaccurate piece of shit ever, ClassicAlfa are a bunch of muppets and sent me the wrong sender unit, I modified it to fit but the resistance is just completely wrong. So I sorted a second hand Jaeger unit and after a bit of testing it appears to be much more accurate. Gave her a wheel alignment. Really need to shell out for a new set of decent rubber but still recovering from the Engine Rebuild. And finally cleaned off the old adhesive and reattached the gay 80's anti-dent trim along the L/H Rear Guard, I really want to take it all off but the paint is shagged and it will look much worse so I shall live with it for now. I also need to track down some sweet chrome end caps for it to tidy it up. Til next time...
  13. Hahaha cheers Guys. These threads can get pretty photo heavy. I have news, I HAVE DRIVEN 7 MILES!!!! And my god she has some balls... Different car.... New points set probably helped substantially as well... Now to get the windows back in and get some more running in done...
  14. How many posts until a new page??? Too many photos...
  15. So am I. I just want to drive it again.
  16. I almost wish I had. But damn your blasphemy. There's a stinky Toyota stain on my discussin thread now.
  17. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate.... I need to sit down and write a book in this thread. Five months of bullshit, fuck arounds and a huge ass load of money, and I have finally started engine reassembly. Pictures soon I promise.
  18. VTNZ and other similar testing stations love to pull handbrakes on whilst loaded on the rolling road. If you had caught it closer to the time they would be paying someone to replace them. So I recommend checking them if you have any future WOF checks at a similar establishment.
  19. I feel your pain, talk about frustrating. Especially only 4 Laps in...
  20. Absolutely Disagree... But feel free to to do as you will...
  21. Nolathane is a terrible product. I would recommend replacing all the bushes with nice new rubber bushes if possible...
  22. Absolutely. This "National system" that everyone talks about is a very basic NZTA server and we can only see what a car has been previously failed for, either after we have entered a result or if we go looking. And even then it carries no details. The purpose of selecting what a vehicle fails on is statistic gathering, nothing more. The stigma that seems to be associated with rust or damage repairs has stemmed from the Compliance Inspections for vehicles entering NZ. They are very strict and require repair certification for the smallest things.
