  2. true, forgot they suck, my tool here is a larger allen key ground down to suit buts in welly. Try that garage on Dominion road behind Segedins, they have all sorts of OS tools
  3. Vice grips work sweet, use thread tape on sump plug and a new washer if poss
  4. This too will suffice, a couple of crap cars will be littering the place..

  6. Nice welding dude, please tell me more about the vintage Vauxhall, who bodied it etc, what Hp Also do I spy a Leyland Comet in the background also? That's choice as..
  7. You Sir, are doing it right. I even like the look of the Mazda, nice wheel choice. Ukraine, more oldschool than oldschool.. Look forward to more on the Volvo and more pics of your mates rides.
  8. I asked about the other day whilst at the tyre shop, its one of those 'il get round to it one day' projects
  9. oh in that case, plastic race flares/oil cooler on chin spoiler. Bolt should be the right one, it was as removed from a 2000 motor, maybe 2.5, should be the same? will be a 3/8 unc bolt anyways from memory, will do wonders for your oil pressure. Remember that long winded debate?
  10. same reason widened steels, because racecar. you will find the back guards are the same as Mk1's and repair panels are cheap as from the gc's at Rimmer Bro's would highly recommend having used said panels on similar rusty boat anchor Triumph fitted oil filter adaptor yet?
  11. I vote flared guards as rust repair solution, I have a 44 gallon drum to assist in the tubbing and flaring of the back end of this..
  12. Never encountered one that was under a high preload - Never attempt on any Mercedes with standard springs... Lada and 99% things, all g factory certified method just hit the springs with the gas plant whilst someone sits on the bonnet, it's how I lowered my Lada wags back in the day /worst advice ever
  13. Do you want the guys contact details? I am sure he will store it for a bit if the beers are the right colour
  14. ^Same designer dude, Michelotti. Go on, be the Hino Hero, I will register intrest in purchasing when up and running..
  15. I use this in everything British, get some and stop being gay. Run a litre of diesel through it on the way home and that should bust the gunge, would definitely not reccomend a diesel oil or anything light grade in that motor, not even once. Original specification oil back when the motor was designed in the 50's was SAE 30, thicker it is the better
  16. I have seen photos of the floor etc, it's sound. Also motor is in bits but all stored in wax paper etc, was driven to it's current spot years ago for resto, then stripped and left. Definitely not past it
  17. yeah as long as you don't damage the frames with welding or cutting should be sweet. weld some old seat rails to the top of an old office chair, should be plenty at your local tip/junk shop go for ones with steel or alloy bases as car seats are higher and heavier, therefore will tip over easily with flimsy bases. I used the existing bolts and slotted angle iron for mine.
  18. You want to make uncomfortable yet desirable seats into chairs? You are doing it wrong.. this took me two minutes, comfy as fuck leather is where its at
  19. If it's a big twin, sure. Look for Triumph bike carbs or similar off a parallel twin would be ace. Why not bigger drums off an HB and a servo? Not a lot of car to stop, no cert dramas
  20. Had that car here in my workshop for a bit, was a mint little car. Had bad thoughts about rotang or V6 power units ending up inside. Common sense prevailed and I am glad you got hold of it, 1256 would be a big jump in performance, apparently there is a lot of power improvements to be had from the head, small inlet ports etc. Check out the Brabham modifications to this motor for tips/how to's You going to run a booster with the disc setup? Hell yeah with the slammage, how can you possibly devalue these cars anymore??
  21. Block of wood on that corner and a sledgie will sort that, do the same behind the grille. You'll have it straight in no time, use lots of heat and get behind with a decent wide head hammer. It is an escort, lets be honest, they have all had more hits than the beatles, unstiching that guard and refitting what will be a pattern panel will be 1majillion times harder than repairing what you got, speaking from experience, good luck.
