  1. Acquired a 4G63 with twin carbs. I sold my last set of twin carbs as they were incomplete and didnt really have a plan for them. These carbs are ready to go. May try to slap them on my current engine for shits 'n' gigs for a bit. I have other plans in the mix and will show the world shortly.
  2. Get a Mitsi....Oh, wait...
  3. Wrong car son... Its ok, I understand.
  4. Page 15...... Pitiful update as well. After 10 months, my doors are now paneled. Hopefully with these back, I may get motivation to do something with this thing. Time will tell.
  5. Thats all good. My work has a van that visits Nelson. When you say "EX rear strut" do you mean shock? The wagons run a different shock to Lancers. The eyes are bigger on the Sigma shock.
  6. Ive got Compressed and lowering springs from a VW Golf in mine. Front and rear. Starion fronts fit both front and rear and drop wagons a bit
  7. How do you tell if its an optical dizzy? Do all the MPI galants/chariots come with them? Theres sometimes a few of these at PAP up here. I could grab one for ya if they all came with one.
  8. Sounds exactly what was happening to Damians Lancer when we put the 4G63 in. To make sure you're all timed up right Set the motor up to TDC With the dizzy out look on the gear for a mark and line it up with a mark on the body of the dizzy There is a mark on the slotted part of the dizzy where you lock the dizzy up. Line this mark up with the stud on the motor as you slot the dizzy in. This should time your motor up somewhat. The rotor should be pointing to the bottom left which is number 1 firing. And yes, the order should be 1342
  9. Yeah, I guess $700 for 2 cars seems like an awesome deal
  10. YOU ASSHOLE! Haha I forgot about that auction. Ah well. Looking thru the pics tho things dont add up. Double check that it has got what he says it does.
  11. Let me know if you're throwing the old hatch away.
  12. Sweet man. Will be watching the progress on this! Is the hatch on your wagon straight?
  13. Ahh, glad it arrived. Sorry for the late delivery.
  14. My cousin has almost completed an engine swap in his VK commodore. He has put a 5L (originally a 202) in using factory parts. It has a 2 piece driveshaft and he had to cut a hole in the bonnet. I read somewhere that 2 piece driveshafts need 2 driveshaft hoops - Is this correct? Are there rules around holes in bonnets?
  15. If you travel to Christchurch at all DJZ may be able to grab them off ya. Fuel pump sits in front of the tank on the L/H side.
  16. Possibly. What would you want for it? Also, does it still have the fuel pump? I'd be keen for the fuel pump and pump bracket.
  17. Were they all GSR's? Does the one that you got have A/C?
  18. ...and the winner is...Caboon! Yep, issue was a combination of problems, coil wiring being one of them. 1st issue was that the distributor was one tooth out (i checked this three times) 2nd issue was that we had only connected one of the wires to the coil thinking that we didnt need to use the wire that went to the ballast resistor. After I got the timing right and connected both wires to the coil it burst into life. So shes a runner now. Yet to clean up a few things and then skid time!
  19. Hey mate To my knowledge there isnt a direct bolt in disc rear option. Your best bet would be to source a 10 bolt diff from a GSR Lancer and have the mounts off your diff put onto the 10 bolt. Depending on what diff is actually in your car you could use these - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 393013.htm There are a few options of 10 bolt diff heads including LSD. These came out in the GSR Lancer and some L200s. SE and GSR Sigmas came out with powersteering (box not rack) Im yet to see if it fits in the wagon. I dont see why it wont. If you do manage to find a sedan with powersteering dont forget to collect the steering column. Keen to see a build thread!
