  1. Quick question.. Im trying to build my lancer for "evo engine" spec but atm i just have a 2ltr sohc carby motor in it, can i run a walbro 500hp ext fuel pump upto a rising rate fuel pressure reg then wind it down to stop it flooding the carb out? so that later on once my evo engine is rebuilt and installed i can wind it up and away i go?
  2. So ive now fitted a fuel pump and run the wires for it. Also got a new fuel cell for the boot Picked up a drive shaft loop aswell except mine is powder coated black. Geting the new front suspention parts machined at work this week to fix camber issues Just need to get some braided lines from fuel tank upto a surge tank then to pump!. (for later on when i put a evo engine back in hehe)
  3. the best way would be to make a plug from expander foam, or a block of polyurethane foam (yellow polystyrene) white poly will melt!, that way u can shape it to what ever size u want. if u just make a dummy one say like this then wax it and make a "product" it will come out smooth inside and ruff outside. if u make a mould from the dummy one, then make a product from the mould it will come out perfectly smooth outside but ruffer inside. u can allways flowcoat inside and sand it smoother. but u realy want the nice finish outside if spending the cash on cf! and its easy enough to fix the inside. just remember one thing!!!!!!!! get the tapers wrong and its like trying to pull a box thru a round hole!!!!!!!!! E.g Mould is say a cone... /\ u cant pull it out the top it has to come out the bottom so dont taper things the wrong way ive seen it done a million times ;p also make sure u get clear resin! u dont want it turning to poo brown after it sets... if your in hamz and realy want to get one made i could help u do it. the making of the mould and the dummy plug will be cheap but will be a bit of cost involved in the cf u could allways do fibreglass.... and paint it
  4. the fibreglass shop hamiton, peace of piss to make a mould and do carbon fibre
  5. So i finaly popt the bonnet today, and filled the radiator
  6. just use the ring gear from a 4g32,4g15 on the evo flywheel. this will make the starter line up..... then use evo cover and what ever clutch plate... i actuley have a evo 3 flywheel witch will fit your motor setup with the correct ring gear and brand new spigot bearing also a good cover plate and a new l200 clutch plate. I would sell it all for a good price. 027 843 1163.
  7. u can get custom seats certd i did it a few years agao. cert guy wanted to see the seat befor it was coverd and he just tryed to brake it. and looked at the flex. my seats were fibreglass one offs for a vauxhall viva.
  8. man that makes me miss my fiats i had a 125 sport, standard 125, and a 125T! with matching numbers should never have sold it!!!!!!!! evan had a polonez ute
  9. could also be little bits of metal that are heating up inside the head from a skim causing it to ignite and run on, had this with my 323
  10. What about the Pajero IO they have 4g93. Yes I'm aware of them, along with the SOHC 4G92 in 90s Jap spec L300 vans, but I'm fairly sure the Lancer GSR transversely mounted blocks don't have the RWD mounting provisions. people say that about evo 3 blocks aswell... ive looked at a gsr block and they do have the mounting points. was offerd a complete gsr motor for 600 from a wrecker who closed down and was clearing stock but got a evo motor from him instead for 900 for my rwd project
  11. its piss easy to put a 7bolt into rwd. just grab a evo flywheel and chuck a 4g32 ring gear onto it and it will line up with the starter.
  12. i know were there are a couple just got one off him yesterday, he has a completely rebuilt one but it droped oil pressure... didnt seize up and don't beleave it run a bearing as motor had oil pressure light, and wen it didnt bring pressure up he turned it off and got pissed off and abandon project lol he wanted 450 for the motor. he has a couple of others but unsure of condition. is a local wrecker here in te awamutu
  13. its all ive ever used and they sound mean? plus no r1 carbs on tardme
  14. Well have scored my self a nice little 4g63 sohc for my lancer project and am going to beef the motor up and want to choose some carb's for it. I had twin 45 webbers on my fiat 125t and it sounded amazing!, would love to go with twin webbers again but what would be suggested? going to rebuild the motor with acl bearings, and a nice piston/rod combo and chuck in a nice cam maybe port and polish the head aswell to realy open it up. have got myself a nice set of extractors.
  15. yeah had the flare tool for a few years doing caravan brakes, got a tube bender
  16. hmm im going to have to give this a try been using vaccum to mould things for about 16 years
  17. runing a new line in my 78 lancer for the evo 3 engine, i got the tube ages agao its bundy tube. cant quite remember the exact size and stuck inside from dental surgery atm was just using the pic as a reference to the "knob" like end thats on standard fuel lines. pipe mint be 3/8
  18. ok yeah i got a double flare tool but it dont do the size pipe ive got lol
